APC RBC4

This battery was a direct replacement that I needed at a good price. Couldn't ask for anything more. OEM, new, and it works as expected.

I got more than a decade of use from the original battery from APC for an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Replacing the battery was easy. Don’t forget to recycle the old one.

Why did the review form via Android app offer a review for "sheerness"? This is a replacement internal battery for a power strip and uninterruptable power supply (UPS). Weird. I replaced the battery. Charged it for 24 hours. Installed devices to use the UPS. After a day of my typical use I tested it. I unplugged the UPS. Devices kept running. Nice. Now I will need to update this review after the battery is recycled. It had better be free.

I purchased an old SmartUPS at my local ReStore for a bargain price. It was not working when I bought it. I knew the probable cause was a dead battery. I was glad to find this battery. Although it is somewhat more expensive than the off-brand replacements, it was still in the range of what I consider to be reasonable. It brought that old SmartUPS back to life after it had been neglected for a long time, enough so that the old battery had swelled and took a lot of work to get out. This one fit in perfectly and the UPS came back to life and should provide more years of usable service. I can't vouch for the battery life, but it should be okay for quite a while. I've not had a bad battery with the APC name on it. I can't say the same for some of the off brands.

This is my second battery in a week, the first "compatible" off-brand didn't fit in the UPS and just getting a return started has taken days... so far. This OEM replacement does fit, easily. And, in less than 5 minutes, my APC UBS was up and running again. No issues, no problem. And the cost differential was negligible. Love it!

Power back up back online. These batteries only last 3-5 years, but in that time protect your expensive electronics from brown outs, and power spikes that destroy your stuff.This is an APC OEM Replacement and went in like a breeze.--UPDATE--Florida summer storms knocked out all power for an hour, and ALL computers in the house successfully shut down and were protected by the APC software. Very, very, very disappointed!!!I looked up and searched for an APC RBC4 battery, and when I found the item and looked at the product image and it showed a battery with APC logo, and I ordered what I thought was an APC battery, opting for the more expensive APC $45 battery over a clone $25 battery believing I was getting a real APC product.I am not sure how I am to handle this. The item being reviewed even states "APC Replacement Batter Cartridge RBC4", which is exactly what I wanted, not a "unknown brand" look alike!Not what I expected from AMAZON or Amazon retailers!

I've replaced a lot of these APC batteries over the years, and always ordered from APC. Their products and service are top notch, right down to the free return. I had some concern this product wasn't going to be the same in some way, but was glad to see it was just the same but at a reduced cost.I marked down ease since the old battery case had expanded with age, and I had to remove the UPS case to pry out the old one. They are supposed to just slide out. Further, it's always been hard to get the battery terminals reconnected since the wires are barely long enough.But the APC batteries are long-lasting and do the job. I've never had a problem with one in over 10 years and in a lot of UPS units.
