I'm a current nursing student and I purchased this to practice my venipuncture and IVs. I was pleasantly surprised with how well this arm was made. I've been able to practice my technique many times and the arm holds up to all the sticks. There is no leaking and the skin still looks new. I believe this is very realistic and a great practice model to build confidence. I would recommend this to anyone learning about venipuncture and starting IVs.

I ordered this due to wanting to have some practice before taking phlebotomy. I love the detail of the veins in the arms. The instructions are straightforward and precise. The arm is very durable. This product is definitely worth the money. As for leakage, I have not properly tested it fully. The weight of the arm should be enough to keep it from moving, but I will have straps just in case to keep it in place.

I'm pretty happy with it thus far. I bought it as a nursing student to practice my IV sticks. I've been using it a few days now, it feels well made, easy to set up, decent price, and it's great practice. Sure it may not be completely life like, veins don't really roll, it's easy to see them, etc., but it's great to practice TECHNIQUE and become more confident with the process. If you're able to start a line on this no problem and have your technique down great, then when it comes to the real thing, all you have to focus on is the patient. I've had no leaks or anything yet, but we'll see as time goes on. I've used the included butterfly needle, syringe with attached needle (they're about 24-26 gauge), and started IV's with 24 gauge over the needle IV catheters. You're able to advance the catheter into the vein, flush the line, etc., no problems. Mine even came with the supplies to spike and hang an IV bag. I did put a Tegaderm on one time over the IV site and it stuck REALLY well to the skin, so much I don't want to use the Tegaderm on it anymore because I don't want to damage the skin on the arm. Overall I'd recommend for those just learning venipuncture and IV's.

This is a great learning tool for all beginning medical personnel. This kit gives a full clinical experience. And is a great learning tool. Everything is well-made with understandable instructions

As the MECQ in New York, I found this practice arm to be cost efficient and perfect for the budget. I sent an email with amazon screen shot to branches in New England, Maine and New York CWHH branches to have the branches order this specific practice arm for RN’s to use during skills competencies, as I purchased first and found it to be perfect! Flash back was super cool and all the clinical mangers were exciting to see the “blood” during catheter insertion!

Not super easy to use. It doesn't function super well.. I thought it'd be better than it is but it is still OK. I wouldn't spend that much on a product like this though. I was expecting a little better.
