No, it is a dullish cotton sheen. Certainly when new it has a smooth finish, but this becomes duller very quickly. Very much an autheintic looking item. As an obsessive fan of the film Taxi Driver I wasn't disappointed.

No, it doesn't and that is indeed a pity. the heavy quilted lining buttons in and out and there's a zipped-in hood (not a "technical" hood with stiffening, just a simple cloth hood) in the collar. It's a great product for the price, but it's not a technical modern heavy parka like those used by serious mountaineers. But darn warm, and big exterior pockets.
