I’m in a hotel room that’s 25 years old with two big, super furry dogs and the minute I plugged this in, it said the air quality was 100% and hasn’t changed since. I’ve unplugged and restated, I adjusted the filter, I’ve done everything. This purifier is garbage. And helps with smells? Nope. Do not buy this. Believe the other reviews that say the same as me. It literally doesn’t not work at all.

Excellent air purifier! Bought this one a year ago and it's been working flawlessly, 24/7. The only time it is turned off is when we change out the filter. Now, it does make slight noise while it's doing it's job (like when we're cooking or we have guests over), but once the air is 100% clean, it shuts down to a barely audible whisper. I like that it has a digital gauge to tell you how clean the air is. I have done nothing more than turning it on and off and installing the initial filter and six months later, installing a new air filter, so I can't tell you about any other features because I bought it for one purpose only, filter the air. Sorry. But from the very first morning after we began using it, there was a very noticeable difference in the quality of the air. Our air is now fresh and clean like a morning after a good rain. As much as I love blackened Mahi Mahi, I don't want to smell it when I wake up in the morning. So, no food or dog smells is neato. I've never done it, but it almost feels like sleeping in an oxygen room. We now sleep so much better which I can honestly tell you, makes a huge difference not only in how our days start and go, but also how our bodies recover and heal during deep sleep. You might be surprised at how good clean air and a solid night's sleep will make you feel. And it is for these very reasons that I would highly recommend the Shark air purifier.

It adjusts to the air quality. When I start cooking it increases speed to compensate for the smoke. Don't laugh - it's true. When the air is better it slows down. It gives the percentage of clean air. One less thing I have to worry about. It's supposed to tell me when to change the filter so I'll have to check back in with that information.
