excellent product
This stuff, although expensive, gives a really good finish on wood. I used 2½ tins of 2.5 litres to give 2 coats outside and 1 coat inside on a 4m x 3m log cabin. The Osmo I ordered was the clear, so no colour stain was in it, and it gave my natural white wood finish a pale yellow/golden hue. The finished effect was very slightly glossy after 2 coats. I also used it on some garden furniture, and it worked just as well on treated and stained Larch. I finally used it on some small pine tables.. I gave then 4 coats, and finished with a really superb glossy transparent finish, better than most varnishes. The Osmo was really easy to apply, my only problem was that in some lights, I couldn't see where I'd applied the last brushful, so had to go over again to make sure I'd covered the lot. I also bought the Osmo natural bristle brush, and it was also great. I think in all the applications, I only lost 2 bristles, and the brush was just the right size (50mm) for easy use. I did also buy some of Osmo's Brush cleaner and thinner. This stuff cost £13.75, but I found that for just brush cleaning, ordinary white spirit did the job just as well, so I wouldn't buy it just for cleaning.

Excellent protection for external wood
This is professional grade protection for external wood where you want the grain and appearance of the wood to be preserved and enhanced as well as the wood itself given protection. Once applied the grain of the wood shines though and the whole surface has a lustrous, 'cared for' appearance. Rain simply runs off. Disadvantages are that it needs care to apply. It is pungent; nicely so but still best to use in a ventilated area. The wood surce should be carefully prepared and it is best applied to freshly sanded surfaces. It is an oil so it does run and drip and it can be very slow to dry in all but the warmest weather. Stonkingly expensive but worth the price if you want the best treatment for well-prepared wood surfaces.

Good quality product & arrived on time.
Just one point to be aware of. It's an exceptionally good product for vertical wood but please not that it does not last that well on horizontal surfaces like window sills. Read the small print on the tin.

Great for protecting natural wood
Osmo UV protection oil is very easy to use, on clean wood like our BBQ hut we applied it straight to the wood with out and primers ect however we did wipe it down first, after the first coat I provided good protection and you could see beading from rain drops, we did however give it a second coat as recommended. We will use this product again as it brings out the natural grain in the wood, it covers well and gives great protection. The negative points are that you will need to research cleaning of brushes as it’s an oil substance and not easy to clean. We rapped the brushes in film between coats. You don’t need to lay this on really thick, just a light coat which drys quick and you can apply a second coat in 24 hrs

Great product
After some research I went for this particular variant and was not disappointed. My outbuilding / office is clad with red cedar and needed treating, but I wasn't sure what color to use to make it look as authentic as possible. This was the right one! It was very easy to apply and dried relatively fast. It gave a very nice finish! Make sure you sand off the surface first so it sticks better and makes the wood more durable.

Awesome product- does what it says on the tin
Used this on my newly build red cedar clad cabin. It goes on easy and you can tell where you’ve applied as it really brings the colour of wood out! I love it! I was told by a decorating mate to make sure to pay attention to the outside temp when applying and for the drying period.. I managed to get 1 coat on before our temps dropped too low. 1 tin did my whole cabin outside (3.5xw4.5dx2.9h)... awesome. Even after 1 coat you can see the difference when it rains.. the water just beads and then runs off (I’ll attach a pic) One tip - if it’s windy when you apply and find that dust or shaving is being blow onto your surface just leave it. Once the oil soaks into the cladding the dust etc just brushes off with a soft brush.

quick deliverey
Osmo oil is so easy to apply. You don't need to mask up, because it's almost colourless, and you don't need to sand it prior to the next coat. After a few years, when you need to recoat, you simply wipe over with a damp cloth, then paint on the oil. I like the fact that it doesn't stain the oak. I've used Osmo oil extensively on all my new oak skirting boards and doors. The colour of the new wood changes slightly, as it would do if you wiped it with a damp cloth, but it doesn't go darker than that. The oil goes on easily, then dries to a hard finish that protects from dirt and spills.
