I have now purchased this moisturiser a number of times such is my appeal for this organic product by Weleda. It makes a great winter barrier moisturiser especially when your face is exposed to the harsh cold winds and driving rain and then the drying effects of central heating within the home. The consistency is rather thick which makes you wonder if it is suitable for the face but really it is. Just a few small dabs applied on the areas deemed necessary then massage in with a slow, gentle circular motion. Initially your face will look greasy but this disappears pretty quickly as it absorbs deep within. You now have a protective barrier making your skin look hydrated and really healthy. It actually gives you a youthful glow. I use this pretty much all year round alongside a sunscreen by Brickell as I am outdoors a lot, either at work or recreational and I am keen to keep my skin looking at its best despite being male. The smell is quite unique and obviously all natural. It smells rather botanical in a herbal kind of way which I actually like. Lastly, being organic is a great plus and reassuring that no unpleasant and unnecessary chemicals reside in the tube to eventually make their way into your body with unknown consequences!!! Really happy and will continue using this product forever more !!!

SO good! I was having really dry wrinkly skin on my face, specifically under eyes (I am 35, and my skin is changing). So anyway wanted to get some new face stuff to try. I am so happy I found this! It’s amazing for the price point. I use it all over my face at night on its own when my skin is very dry and it’s super hydrating. Great for winter. When my skin is “ok” and not in need of extra help I use on top of my normal moisturiser as an under eye cream. Serious game changer!!! Its melts away my under eye wrinkles and keeps them moisturised all day. Like butter. You won’t regret this buy. Only thing is it’s very thick like an ointment almost so I tend to warm it up in my palm or next to the radiator.

Weleda do not package their products in fancy packaging; this comes in a small green tube, a bit like a mini toothpaste or ointment tube. I don't know what the full sized one looks like but I suspect it is similar. This small tube comes in an outer cardboard box, again like toothpaste does. In order to open the tube you have to use the lid to pierce the metal seal. This makes it tamper proof and means that nothing nasty can have been added after it left the factory. This is not hard to do and I like the feeling of security it gives. The cream itself is actually quite thick and a creamy colour. It smells like a fresh herb sort of bergamot orange with other herbs; a combination of those used in the product such as chamomile, calendula and lavender. I like the smell. It isn't sweet and feminine at all, in fact it is clean and fresh, slightly masculine and a bit like some ointments. I have only used this on my elbows, hands and as a special treat and in the interests of reviewing I gave my feet a treat too. I find it is really good for hands and elbows. My feet enjoyed their treat too. The cream is quite thick and feels quite intense but once massaged in my elbows felt nice and well fed but not greasy at all. My hands also felt lovely and soft and smooth and I was able to read on my tablet soon after applying as there was no slippery greasy feel. I was also very kind and allowed my husband to use some of his hands as they get very dry and cracked with eczema. This and the Body Shop hemp hand cream both helped a lot with healing them. he is not very good at regularly applying creams on his hands and that is why they get so bad. The scent lingers for quite some time and as I like the smell, I can work on the laptop and enjoy the scent on my hands as I type. This lovely intense cream is full of natural goodies Water, Sunflower Seed Oil, Lanolin, Sweet Almond Oil, Alcohol, Beeswax, Glyceryl Linoleate, Hydrolyzed Beeswax, Viola Tricolor Extract, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Cholesterol, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol, Citral and Coumarin. Despite some of the Latin names these are all natural ingredients. It reminds me in texture of Body Shop hand cream, the Hemp one. It is similarly thick and feels similar in texture. As it is so thick and intense you need only a little for the moisturising benefits to take effect. I have been a fan of Weleda for some time and am yet to find a product that I do not like. They are not the cheapest option around , especially if you buy them in the UK but I do think they are good quality products produced using ethically sourced ingredients.

I started using Weleda Skin Food when my skin barrier was badly inflamed after over-cleansing. I have rosacea and my skin is extremely sensitive I don’t tolerate salicylic acid at all which I didn’t know.. and most products leave my face red, burning, and irritated. Because of that, I was honestly nervous to try anything new. The very first application of Skin Food was immediately soothing. No stinging, no burning, no redness flare-up, just relief. I’ve been using it once a day since, alongside azelaic acid, and the combination has worked incredibly well for me. It’s super moisturising, and one application genuinely lasts for days. To help repair my barrier, I stopped washing and cleansing my face altogether and just focused on moisturising, and by the second application I could already tell my skin was repairing itself. The inflammation calmed down quickly, and my skin finally felt protected instead of raw. Using Skin Food alongside azelaic acid helped keep my skin calm and supported while still treating my rosacea, without triggering irritation. ( I have hormonal acne so this is why I tried the SA)If you have rosacea, a damaged skin barrier, or stupidly sensitive skin like mine, this product is honestly very good. It did exactly what my skin needed when almost everything else makes it worse.

The go-to face cream for dry, flaky skin. My skin flares up dryness so badly during the colder months, and this product is a godsend. It's helped me with a good moisturised base for makeup, and general moisturiser. Other moisturisers advertised for dry skin, like cerave dry me out 30 minutes after use. But this one, you don't have to worry about dryness because you can actually still feel the moisture on your skin. I really enjoyed the absorbency and ease of application. Although, the smell isn't really for everyone, and personally I don't think the lemon-smell was necessary at all. Also the size of the product for it's cost is a bit expensive, but it was one of the best products out there for super dry skin (technically worth it). I'm not a big fan of the shape because, it's basically like trying to squeeze out the last bit of toothpaste. In the end, I usually prefer using this when I need a good moisturised base, because it is pretty heavy cream so I do prefer something lighter but moisturising instead for everyday use.

This cream is excellent. I get extremely dry and cracked hands each autumn/winter and have tried countless creams over the years to try and help my hands recover. Nothing has worked untill I purchased some SkinFood that was recommended to me by my sister. Even after one application I was impressed with the result.. now I use it daily and my hands are much improved. A little goes a long way so great value also. It is a pretty thick and greasy cream which is perfect my needs but I note they do a lightweight formula which would suit those who don't need such a thick cream. So happy to finally find a cream that works, cream's scent is herby and fresh. Will be buying again and would gladly recommend to others.

Quite a thick cream compared to others but is so worth it this is the nicest face cream I've used for protection and natural feeling hydration and it smells fully natural too.

THE BEST SKIN FOOD. I use it on my neck everyday and on my face before bed as a mask then just rub it in before sleep. It smells Devine.!!!! Sooo easy to use and make my skin feel so soft. Excellent value for money as it is like a moisturiser 10 x its price. The use looks small but a small dot goes such long way, You will not be disappointed with this.
