Penhaligon's Juniper Sling Eau de Toilette

I bought this for my boyfriend (although I would also steal it to wear myself!) as he had had a sample previously from the Penhaligons store and loved it. It is much cheaper than the store price but it is genuine. I really like this fragrance and it is very long-lasting.

I love this, I am surprised it is described as unisex because for me it is very definitely masculine. I was given a sample when I bought some other Penhaligon's products a few years ago and gave it to my husband to try. I was hooked. To me it's a classic scent rather than 'modern', very clean smelling, 'gentlemanly' and sophisticated. I absolutely adore it on my husband, which of course he likes, but luckily he likes it too. Its like cat nip to me. (I do also love gin & tonic.) I don't let him wear it every day because I don't want to get used to it.

Bought this for my wife, who loved it - HOWEVER, after some time we are wondering why the scent seems to fade rather faster than we would expect. SO we took it to a Penhaligons shop (took it to two actually) and they were a uncertain but thought it might be a fake as the plastic 'bow' was a very slightly different to theirs. SO not really sure if this is or is not legit (bought from Direct Beautique). If it is not, it is a very good copy. So 4 stars for the fading but please note I am not saying it is or is not a fake - I really don't know and neither did 4 Penhaligons employees!

Lovely warm smell of juniper, remarkable scent which lasts with a clean G & T aroma. This will please any man (or woman) with it's distinctive perfume, striking a clean and energising note, ideal for work or play. And certain to be appreciated as a gift.

Girlfriends favourite perfume, she loves it. Smells great, at a low price and came on time.

Gut, die Preise von Penhaligons sind schon heavy. Ich habe mich aber in diesen Duft verliebt, den mir eine nette Verkäuferin in Dubai vorgestellt hat. Dort war er sogar teurer als bei Amazon. Es ist ein eher würziger, harziger aber frischer Duft. Nebenbei gefällt er auch den Damen, glaube ich! Man braucht sehr wenig und kommt mit einer Flasche sehr lange hin, über 1 Jahr ( wenn es nicht als Rasierwasser benutzt wird). Dafür ist es nämlich nicht gedacht.

This summer's favorite without a doubt, although the summer is not yet over. Gin truly is wonderful, a dashing androgynous scent. From the very first time I used it, I didn't hesitate to buy a full bottle. A friend of mine first encountered the scent of gin in the air of a small hotel in Hong Kong (when I had just sprayed it). Immediately, she said she wanted to use it too. At that time, I just liked it but wasn't amazed. Unexpectedly, the more time passed, the more I loved it. The top notes are cinnamon and juniper berry, blending in the cool air, with a lively image of chilled fruit liquor appearing before my eyes, set against a backdrop of frosted woods. The leather is not too obvious, and the pepper hides behind other notes as a supporting character. The base notes are vetiver and cherry, mixing a warm fragrance with just the right amount of berry sweetness, forming a subtle gourmet note. The cold woody scent gradually transitions to a warm one, no longer chilled or frosty, like a glass of wine brought back from the forest to a cozy cabin, with a piece of cake along the way. The development is beautiful, consistently understated yet deeply moving. It's never spicy, not a strong liquor, and not at all vulgar. Physically, it doesn't smell like alcohol, but it possesses a carefree, elusive charm, which in turn gives it a sense of intoxication. As a men's fragrance, it embodies a "gentleman rogue" image. If worn by a woman, it would be straightforward, crisp, sensible yet innocent, somewhat unapproachable, and slightly irreverent. The longevity is average, but other than that, there is nothing unsatisfactory. Each element couldn't be more pleasing.

ブルガリのオムと似た香りとのことですが、たしかに同じラインかと思います。気分の悪いときにかぐとかなり厳しいです。ブレナムブーケのほうが、柔らかさがあり、マッチする人も多いかと思います。 ジュニパー自身の香りはときどき、ふっと流れてきます。強く前へ出てくるものではありません。 ジュニパーといわれるとジンですが、大人の男そのもの、強さとダンディさを備えている人にはしっくりくるかも しれません。間違えても「女性にもいける」香りではないです。どんなに頑強で男勝りであったとしても、渋めの男性の 似合うかおりは女性には入ってこないと思います。 酔ってしまい、もったいないですが、お蔵行きです。 **いったん購入して、あまりのきつさに、頭痛がしたのですが…やはりジュニパーの香りが 忘れられず再度購入。腰のあたりのワンプッシュですませました。寒い冬、引き締まる透き通った 香りです。気分の悪いときは合いませんが、そうでなければ、爽やかで独特の”貴方”が演出 できます。ほかの香りとかぶりませんので、印象付けるにはいいと思います。ジンの香りとあって、 日本酒の飲み屋、居酒屋よりは、カクテルやスピリッツの飲めるホテルのラウンジがぴったり。 女性なら、ビジネスでキメたいとき、しゃきっとしたスーツをまとって、ジュニパーシリングを。 一度ではわかりにくい「逸品」の深い味は、あとからわかるのかもしれませんね。 ペンハリガンさん、失礼いたしました。リピートするかもしれません。
