MTM TRB-40 Tactical Range Box for regular & tactical rifle, USA Made, Black

I will buy nothing else but MTM Case-Gard products from here on out, so long as they offer an item that I am shopping for, of course. Now, I mostly bought their products to begin with, if needed something that they offered. But I have had 2 experiences now with their Customer Service and it is second to none. There first was when I bought the MTM Quick Rest. This is a simple one-piece pyramid shaped gun rest that is very easy to use, store and take to the range. The place that sold it to me was an old, dumpy gun store so it was a bit dusty and one of the little rubber feet had slid off because the adhesive got warm and gooey from being poorly stored. I contacted MTM and asked if I could buy some adhesive feet. They sent a small bubble mailer to me with 2 dozen spares in it! Next, was after I bought this, my second Tactical Range Box, as I had sold my first one to my brother because he needed something right then and I would just wait for this one to come to me. Anyway, when I received I found that the latches would not "latch", the left one sort of did and the right one would just fall back down. I emailed MTM, they sent replacement latches to me right away. 2 days later i received and tried them but it did not fix the problem. I told them that it may just need to a new bottom or a new upper section; to let me know what measurements they needed from me. 2 Days later I received a new box. I emailed them and thanked them for being the best. PS, they sent another box to me to give to my son! So yeah, I only buy their products now. My Rating System: 5-Stars - A Superior Product or Above Average & An Excellent Value - I would recommend. 4-Stars - Above Average OR Excellent Value – A great choice. 3-Stars - Average – What one might generally expect. 2-Stars - Below Average Product OR Poor Quality Control – Maybe seek an alternative. 1-Stars - Avoid if at all possible.

If you own a couple of rifles and a couple of pistols, you know that you end up having a lot of cleaning and lubricating products including a bunch of rags and pads laying around your cleaning area. I was actually looking for a rifle stand to be able to rest the rifles on it while I clean them and I was thinking to myself "where the heck am I going to store this stand now?". Then I stumbled on this box and not only it answered my question but it also took care of storage for all the rest of my cleaning products that I had on a shelf in the garage. It has plenty of space for all my stuff and it is the size of a toolbox so I can just store it on top of the rest of my toolboxes until I need it again. The cover of the top compartment is thin and flimsy but that is just a cover and it does what it needs to do. The rest of the box is made of thicker plastic and handles the weight of the AR on one end without any bending. Now, this is not a box a gunsmith would get to rest the rifle they are working on, but for me that I just wanted a stand to rest my rifle while I am cleaning it, it is the perfect solution and it is easy to handle and quick to set up. It is advertised as a tactical range box but I don't see why anyone would take this box to the range with them. In my opinion, if you need a box like this to work on your rifle at the range, it may be time to put it away and go work on it at home. Yet, it would be something that you can take with you on a 3 gun competition day just in case you need it. I would definitely recommend it if you need a space saver or a box to take with you on "competition day". If you do not have a problem with space or you do a lot of work on your rifles, I would go with a better quality rifle stand.

Gave this a five rating because it met every expectation that I had. I used it as a range box for awhile but lately, I use it more for a cleaning and maintenance box. Luckily I was able to put all my cleaning and maintenance items in the range box (CLP, swabs, grease, bore brushes, shotgun chokes, scope level, everything). Some things that people might be worried about would be the lid. It does seem a little flimsy but Its held up well for me and I abuse my stuff a lot. To those wondering about the AR magazine insert holder, it does work well and I haven't had any spontaneous tips or anything (I have a M&P Sport that has some aftermarket accessories). The two forks that are included have been used by me for everything from a Mosin Nagant, to a Swiss K31, to a Saiga 12, Saiga Rifle, AR-15, Benelli M1S90 and many other rifles and shotguns and they have worked with everything. The feel pretty solid as well which was a big concern for me. Comparing this to the Plano Shooter's Case that I have, I would definitely recommend this over that. The Plano is essentially just a big box with a tray and two forks. It is a lot easier to keep organized with the MTM. The one thing that the Plano has over the MTM is that under the tray, you have a lot more space. What I did was take my aerosal's and other lubes and cleaners and put them in my Plano case and everything else in the MTM range box. It has worked very well for me.

This box works well for what it is designed to do. There is room for most everything one might need in a tactical tool box. I love the AR mag well adapter as it holds my rifle in a nice position for cleaning. Seems sturdy enough in general. Would have given it 5 stars but the bottom half when attached to the top tends to miss align a bit due to the thinner material warping from the weight of the stuff I placed inside. No big deal, it is not likely to cause damage to it, I'm just a tad OCD and like a perfect fit. I'm happy with it and would certainly recommend it to my friends. Best field box I have looked at for the $ and I looked at a bunch. Thanks again Amazon for the fast delivery and great products!

This thing is awesome. Some people are saying that it's flimsy... it's not necessarily the thickest plastic but it works unless you have crazy crazy heavy stuff in it I guess. Looks great works great really like it. I wish they would make a second version that was deeper and/or wider for some of us that have more gear but other than that it's great!

Perfect and better than expected

Viel zu teuer aber leider eben absolut top. Jetzt kann der Schreibtisch auch zum putzen genutzt werden und alles hat seinen Platz. Werd den Preis zahlt bekommt ein durchdachtes System!

This has become a very helpful case to get all my cleaning supplies organized. I highly recommend this.

Here's a 2020 review : It's very convenient to store all my cleaning tools and accessories. Good for home. Good for the the gun range to clean my weapons. Many convenient small and medium compartements. I took out two star because : 1) Only the top part can be locked. There is no mean to lock the bottom part. 2) Reviews about the case being flimsy are 100% accurate. I bought this case in 2020 and it came all the from USA directly from MTM, so the chance I got an old version are slim to none. The bottom part side walls are very flimsy. Often the top half will not sit properly on the bottom half so I have to reach around all sides to make sure the top sits in the groove properly. That's obviously a design flaw that MTM should have adress a long time ago. The fact that the bottom half cannot be locked is probably not a deal breaker for most customers. It was not for me. But the fact that I have to look all around the case to make sure the top half sits properly in the bottom half grooves that's is extremely annoying. Please give my review a LIKE ! :-)

Nice box but of the 3 I've tried none of the tops would sit properly on the bottom half so you have to reach around all sides to make sure the top sits in the groove properly. Quality control should have noticed this design flaw.
