Great mid-range board for pretty much any application.
I was looking for an affordable Micro ATX motherboard, and have been impressed with ASUS products before. This little motherboard is a great bang-for-buck option. Has a quite a few good features, and I love the color scheme of this board. I plugged a brand new i5 4690k into this board and I didn't have to update the BIOS, and it detected it and ran immediately. The UEFI BIOS gives you a lot of easy access to overclocking, and allows you to change a lot of complex options. Also, don't be scared when you are putting the brackets over the CPU to keep it in place. You are going to feel like you are breaking something, because you have to put a lot of pressure onto the chip to secure the bracket in place. Overall build quality leaves a little bit to be desired, but what can you expect from a low-priced, mid range motherboard. The PCB is a little flimsy, and when plugging some connecters into it i was nervous about how much I was bending the board. Nevertheless, it seemed okay after getting it mounted into my case, and it looks damn nice as well. The heat sink next to the PCI express board slot gets very warm. After a few hours, you'll barely be able to touch the thing. Make sure to have some good airflow over the entire board to ensure that it doesn't get extremely hot. The temperature doesn't seem to raise any problems, so it should be okay. The I/O is pretty acceptable on this board. I would've liked to see the old mouse/keyboard ports replaced with a few more USB ports, because if you're still using those extremely old ports, you should probably buy a new mouse. Regardless, it could probably still be helpful to some people. I am still waiting for my CPU cooler, so for now I am running on stock speeds. I will try to remember to update this review after I have a stable overclock running, and give some info on how the board performs. This board also automatically detected my 1600MHz Kingston HyperX memory, and I didn't have to change the clock speed settings in the BIOS, which is really convenient. All in all, I recommend this board for any mid range specced system, and you want to do some LIGHT overclocking, nothing crazy. It's an incredible deal for the price. Thumbs up to ASUS for this one.

Positive Experience
This was my first PC built, all from scratch. This MOBO turned out to be surprisingly easy to use. After the built and when I connected monitor and turned on the power I got ASUS BIOS screen. I am using this PC for nearly half a year by now and no problems. I installed 2 hard drives (WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD10EZEX), from one I am running Windows 7 Pro, from another Linux Fedora 22. Linux is great, all drivers including ASUS drivers were already built in. For Windows I had to install them from enclosed disc. No problems with ASUS but beware of what Windows you buy. I got them from reputable source on ebay, plenty of excellent reviews, installed them and registered them using phone. No problems here but in two weeks I started getting message: This is not genuine Windows! Further research showed, the Windows was not intended for a new mother board PC. I have this PC on my private home network using Netgear AC1750 WiFi router. Both Windows and Linux like the router. Installed memory is four sticks of Kingston HyperX FURY 4GB Kit (4x4GB) 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM - Blue (HX318C10FK2/8), total of 16GB. My wireless device is TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 Dual Band Wireless N900 PCI Express Adapter,2.4GHz 450Mbps/5Ghz 450Mbps. DVD drive is Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive DRW-24B1ST . Power supply is Sentey Xplus Power Supply 725 Watt (XPP725-HS). Case is Antec Three Hundred Two Gaming Case. I really did not need such a big case but I had a discount and the case is excellent. I have also installed PC Internal Mini Onboard Speaker by ENLIGHT to beep diagnostic warnings. Works just fine. Two external speakers are made by Logitech. Processor is Intel Core I3-4160 Processor 3.60 GHz, 2-Core LGA1150 Socket, Hyper-Threading (BX80646I34160). Good workhorse for what I need. I would highly recommend this motherboard.

Great Motherboard and Great Value !
Fantastic motherboard that gets the job done ! There is no need to get a super high end motherboard if you do not plan on using every single feature and taking advantage of all of them. This motherboard is superb and works great on budget builds as well as higher end PC builds. Product came extremely fast and in perfect working condition. This motherboard supports the Intel Socket 1150, which I am currently using an Intel Pentium G3258 on it as my second machine. Take caution for those who are planning on doing SLI or Crossfire as the motherboard only has 1 PCIe x16. Otherwise, it is a fantastic board and for those whom do not plan on using a graphics card, this motherboard does offer a wide range of video display output. It supports HDMI, DVI-D, VGA . It is a Micro ATX form motherboard so it will fit most, if not all the common cases out in the market right now. I give this a 5/5 as it fits everything that I had intended on getting and is also a great deal.

Great Mobo
I had to replace the ASUS mobo in my rig since it shorted out. I managed to install this motherboard and get my computer back up and running without having to reinstall the operating system. When I first set up the rig, I was getting a chassis intrusion error. I bypassed this by deactivating the chassis intrusion setting in BIOS. Otherwise the install was super simple. I was pretty rough in manhandling this motherboard while setting it up in my case and it surprisingly still worked. The mobo is smaller than my previous one and fits great in my case. It has 6 usb ports, DVI, HDMI, VGA, and a DisplayPort. Also, my last ASUS mobo used to randomly power itself on from sleep or off state. Since replacing the mobo with this one, I haven't had that happen once.

Good motherboard for a PC refurb using socket LGA 1150. Not top of the line for asus being a 87M model but still a good buy. Worked perfect on first install. Thanks.

I bought this to replace a Gigabyte board that failed. The new board works perfectly and I'm so happy not to throw out an expensive processor. Here are the negatives that I discovered, so that you can purchase fully informed: I found the socket plate flimsy and awkward. There are multiple metal flanges, I guess to improve grounding, and they can easily splay the wrong way, going in front of your socket instead of down the side. It took multiple attempts teasing with a small screwdriver to persuade it to fit snugly. Also, I built my case with many fans so that they could run slow to keep the noise at a minimum, but this board only has 2 chassis fan connectors (plus the mandatory CPU fan). Perhaps the thinking is that a micro-ATX motherboard will be in a smaller case, but not everyone follows that logic. The memory slots only have a lever at one end, which seems an unnecessary bit of corner-cutting to me. Everything else is perfect, it has plenty of SATA, USB connections and even has four memory slots where cheaper cards sometimes only have two.
