These light easily and burn well. I've used two in my fireplace and they burn nearly completely. They burn long enough and not too long for a pleasant fire for entertainment purposes. Won't heat your home. Won't burn all day. Could roast marshmallows. Can snuggle with your spouse.

Lighting takes about 5 seconds, just touch a flame to the wick and you’re good. Burns about 45 minutes and puts off pretty good heat. You could just light this and hang out for an hour, or use it to build a bigger fire around it. Love this product!

We have used OneLogs for the past year, and have found them to be a reliable and wonderful addition to our lives. There is one "trick" to lighting them which may help users who have had a hard time. The wick is attached to a square of starter material. This square should be placed back into the vertical air channel for the OneLog to work properly. So before lighting the wick, push the square backward until it hits the back wall of the channel. Then light the wick. We use a plastic butane lighter to do the lighting. If you're using a match that will make it harder. {Suggestion to Bob at OneLog: Make the wick about a half an inch longer.} After lighting, the OneLog will burn for 60 to 90 minutes making a nice fire on its own. At the end of 90 minutes it will fall over into pieces. At this point you can add the firewood of your choice to make a bigger fire. You shouldn't need kindling unless you have missed the "sweet spot" and need to revive the fire. We use these in combination with Ossipee kiln-dried firewood which we purchase from either Cumberland Farms or Shaw's. They are a bit pricey, but are bug-free, have an assortment of sizes in each pack, and burn very well. We order the OneLogs in boxes of six from Amazon. Delivery is unfortunately not free, but is usually earlier than projected. The company is small and cordial, a pleasure to deal with. I've put their decal onto my laptop.

Works as advertised … 2 hours, no mess or fuss. Burned 95% down…. For those who think they are missing instructions, turn the tag around.
