Very Handy Bit Of Kit
I recently found a small plastic part on a machine that I use regularly had broken off and rendered it useless. I was about to fix it with some epoxy resin and a sharp knife when somebody mentioned to me that I might consider a 3D printer to replicate the part. The machine I was trying to repair was worth £150, and this printer cost £170, so it was a no-brainer as I could use it for multiple tasks in the future if I could master it (and I have plenty of these tasks). I haven’t done Computer Aided Design since about 1984 (when it took the best part of a week to ‘draw’ something on a mainframe computer). I got out of that game shortly afterwards and got into accountancy, so haven’t designed anything since, other than on paper (my old Technical Drawing O-Level never left me). It still took me a day or so to get my head around the software for 3D printing (TinkerCad, and then the WeeFun proprietary download), but once I understood the principles, I could design something in about 10 minutes; something that would have taken seven days some 40 years ago! I did a bit of research and landed on this machine because it seemed to have good reviews (it wasn’t in the Black Friday deal, but had better reviews than the machines that were). It may be perfect for children who can absorb tuition relating to these, but it’s also an excellent bit of kit for us grown-ups for making small parts that happen to break around the house. It's not the largest machine, but its perfect for small jobs. If I were to buy it again, I would probably spend another £20 and buy the WiFi version to save on having to remove and insert the memory card which worries me in case I wear it out. I did struggle slightly with getting the software to open on my Mac because it wasn’t recognised as ‘safe’, and the manufacturer’s website was a bit lacking with regard to instruction, but on the whole, it was a very positive experience. The machine doesn’t come with a dust cover, but a supermarket carrier bag overcomes this. For me, this gadget will pay for itself in a matter of days as I regularly have to buy small parts for stuff, and only just discovered that there are online libraries of useful things to print (Thingiverse). I can't understand why I didn't buy one of these machines years ago.

Small but Reliable
I was looking for a pre-assembled 3D printer to sit on my desk and found the Tina2. I already have another 3D printer from a few years ago but it was a little too big. Tina2 is an excellent choice for anybody wanting to start out in 3D printing and it really is a 'plug and play' printer. With Tina2 there is no WiFi connection to transfer files from computer directly to the printer and file trasfer is via SD card. On reflection, I wish I'd bought Tin2 S with the WiFi. Overall, I think that the Tina2 is a very good entry level printer. UPDATE I bought the Tina2 Plus in May 2025 as it had a Wi-Fi connection as well as the micro SD card toload print files. I must say that I was very impressed with the printer. The machine is so quiet that I had to go back to it a couple of times to see if it was still printing! There is no wobble with Tina2 Plus and this makes for very good 3D printed items. The accuracy of smaller items is amazing. I've printed figures for my 'N' gauge model railway that have been as good as shop bought figures but for pence, not pounds. OK, they need painting up but that's part of the hobby. The only niggle that I had was trying to connect Tina2 Plus to my home Wi-Fi network. It took four attempts before the printer was recognised which was a little frustrating, but everything is working now. I still think that the Tina2 and Tina2 Plus are excellent entry level 3D printers for the size and price

I love some Weefun!
I recently purchased the Weefun Tina2 3D printer and couldn't be happier with my decision! The compact size makes it perfect for my workspace, and the reliability of the prints is outstanding; every model comes out with great detail and precision. Setting up the printer was straightforward, allowing me to dive into projects quickly. One thing to note is that while the printer is not overly loud, the noise level during printing can be a bit annoying, especially since some prints can take several hours depending on complexity. I also noticed some minor discrepancies between the manual and the actual printer settings, which took a bit of getting used to. In hindsight, I might have opted for the model with WiFi for added convenience, but overall, the Tina2 has exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a dependable 3D printer!
