Worked great for bedridden person

Never again
This was listed as an external catheter for woman. This was not something that was easy to use. It was hard to put it on a bed bound person, it leaked and was uncomfortable for the patient to wear. Do not recommend at all

Doesn't really help
Nah didn't work, pee goes everywhere when your sleeping and old and can still move around.

EUREKA! I McGyvered this into working!
This works if you sleep on your back and you do not roll around. It will not work if you sleep on your side, or you move around in your sleep. Other details: 1 ) Make sure the cup is well seated in place. If you can pull your thighs around the cup, they will help keep it in place. But, not too tight. See #11 below. 2 ) Run the tube under your leg and into the bag. Don't position the tube in a way that requires the pee to go up, you want gravity to pull it down. There is going to be some that has to run up initially because your bottom will likely press you lower into the bed than your lighter weight thighs. The key here is to have your thighs on top of the tube enough, so pee won't overflow the cup because the cup is lower than the tube under your leg. 3 ) Make sure the closure on the bottom of the bag is closed. You will have a mess if you forget to close it. Best to put the bag in a bucket. The little one on top should remain open. 4 ) Place a pad, like a poise pad and/or a chuck underneath the cup. It will have some leakage, but we have found that placing something underneath the cup will keep the bed dry. 5 ) The straps that go around the legs connect to the lower buttons on the fabric. If you want these to me more comfortable, wrap them in a seatbelt protector (just search for that on Amazon). The seatbelt protector also allows you to pull the cup tight without causing a friction burn on the skin. This is important. See attached picture of seat belt protector. 6 ) Flush the whole thing with water each morning after you take if off and empty the pee in your toilet. It's easy to clean in the shower and then hang it there to dry. Use soap to protect against infection. 7 ) Since each woman is shaped a little differently, you might need to try this a few times. It is best to clamp your legs around it to hold it in place too. But, not too tight. See #11 below. 8 ) It really only works for lying down on your back. Does not work in other positions. Does not work if you roll around in bed. 9) Last thing to check before going to bed, make sure the cup and tube are connected really well and that the tube isn't being pulled away from the cup because of the way your leg is laying on top of it. If the tube comes off the cup in the middle of the night, you'll have a mess. I have used a very small zip tie to secure the tube onto the cup. This really improves the performance because it is much less likely to accidently disconnect at night. 10) Blow a little air in the opening at the top of the cup. Enough so you see the bag inflate a bit. If the bag is flat and isn’t ballooned a bit, it is less likely to work. This also helps you know that the path is open and working. 11) The cup is squishy and will sometimes collapse in on the sides, which can seal the cup and prevent the pee from getting to the exit tube. If this happens you will have a mess. I cut the top off of an I.D. creamer bottle and buffed the edges smooth. I put this inside the cup to prevent it from collapsing, like a skeleton. Wash this every day with soap to prevent infection. See picture. 12) It helps to slope the edge of the bed, so pee runs down the tube and into the bag. I accomplished this with a “U” shaped arm from an office chair. See picture attached. I shove the arm under and on top of the mattress and it squeezes it enough to create a downward flow for the pee. 13) One major problem is that sometimes the tube gets squeezed too much when it runs under the leg. This is one of the top 3 reasons people are complaining that it doesn’t work. I solved this using “Split Wire Loom Tubing”. Just search for this on Amazon and you’ll see what it is. This provides an exoskeleton for the soft rubber tubing and prevents it from getting squished. Because it is hard and has a sharp edge, I put a folded hand towel between the tubing and the leg. 14) Regarding the very small zip ties mentioned above, buy a good bunch of them. They are 3/32-inch wide. Over an extended period of time the tubing will start to yellow, and it can’t really be cleaned on the inside. I have been replacing the tubing with 5/16-inch vinyl tubing. When replacing the tubing, it is important to use a very small 3/32-inch wide zip tie to secure it. 15) If you have trouble with bowel control while sleeping, another advantage this has over the Purewick/PrimaFit is that it can prevent UTI's. This is because it can provide protection by keeping stool out because it acts as a sealed barrier. You might want to know why I’m giving this contraption 4 stars. It’s because, even after buying all the stuff I needed to fix this thing, it’s less expensive than the external catheters that use a vacuum pump (Primafit and Purewick). And, now that I figured this out, it actually works more consistently than the more expensive ones they have in the hospital. I do agree that the thing you get in the box is terrible by itself. It’s like selling someone a car without wheels, seats, or an engine. The folks who make this thing and reply to questions do not know what they are doing or talking about. They are just sales people. With extra ingenuity, time, determination, and materials, you can make this work effectively at a much lower cost than the ones that use a vacuum pump. Good Luck.

collector collapse
this was for my bedridden wife. the collector is made of silicon and does not stay open. this product does not work. I won't return it because it has been somewhere I don't want amazon workers to be exposed to so I will just pass on the refund. don't buy this product

Impossible to put on
Instructions are in Chinese. I tried to figure out how to put on. The belts are elastic with TINY buttonholes for buttons that are twice as large. Buttons, seriously!!

Don’t recommend, but I tried it anyway. Would not buy again.
I read some of the reviews and those that were negative were written more about I believe people, not knowing how to fix the cup in place. Since I am an RN, I knew understanding the female anatomy wouldn’t be an issue. And I did manage to fix everything in place to capture the urine. However, the problem is that the outlet For the cup goes down and if the person is lying flat in the bed, it’s not likely to be collected by the bag. So even though about 70% of the urine got into the bag, the other 30% was on the pad that she was on. I think a redesign might work better. I would not buy again and I just tossed it.
