Miss Brain's Cool Math Games: For Kids In Grades 3-5 - Revised Edition Review: Fun practice - I bought this for my 2nd grade daughter who is slightly behind. We go at her pace and she is a young second grader. She loves the games and learns while we play. Good for taking time off from the books here and there and feel like your still reinforcing skills they’ve learned. I appreciate they are simple to follow and materials are thing we have around the house. We do homeschool so educational games we can play with 1-4 players just be or the family are important for us. Review: Great math games for math centers - I purchased this book (Kindle version) late last Summer and only got a chance to read it this Summer - wish I'd had time to read it during the school year. This book offers some really great math center games which will reinforce math skills. The best part is Miss Brain gives us games which use supplies we already have in our classrooms - playing cards, dice, pencil and paper - she includes printable copies of number lines, hundreds chart, place value mats. I started Friday math centers last year and loved them - I plan on doing more this year and Miss Brain just made it a whole lot easier with age appropriate learning games!

Loved by mom and first grader!
I bought this to supplement my first grader’s homeschool math curriculum and have not been disappointed! We’ve played a few games and they have been super fun. I would definitely recommend this! Note that there are some game pages you have to print yourself. All the stuff you need to play each game is stuff you already have around the house.

Miss Brain's Math Is Cool
I love everything about this book. The lessons are easy, effective and fun. It truly does turn math into play time. In addition the book is easy to lay on the copy machine. I recommend this book to anyone home schooling, bolstering what is learned at school, or giving extra help to those in need. Enjoy!

learning through games
This is the best book I've come across for this age group. The classic book on this subject, Family Math , is usually too advanced (or too easy in the case of Family Math for Young Children: Comparing ) as are most other math games books. This definitely fills a need in the world of math game literature. We love it and a lot of the games are ones I've never seen before - such as a treasure hunt for coins buried in rice.

My daughter struggles in math, and we need to spend extra time at home reviewing concepts. We find playing games with her, not only makes learning fun, she learns in the process. This booklet is great and offers many fun activities for children and their parents to play with. She also has the printables included in the book or you can go to the website to download.

Not at all what I was hoping for/expecting. I thought that inside pages would be full of various colourful board game’s and such. Something that children could themself be interested to engage in. Unfortunately the appearance of the pages alone is as boring as I associate with ‘doing math’ and the games are not ‘ready’ activities instantly engaging for children.

Misprinted? Says grades 1-3 on the cover but inside says grades 3-5 ??? Like others I was really hoping the inside would be glossy and colorful, but my eyes immediately glazed over when I opened it.
