Been a type 1 for 31 years. Had all the highs, all the lows, ate all the chalky glucose tabs and powder mix's to raise sugars. Sure, i can carry around a soda and a few swigs would bring my BG back up, but these packets are small enough to put in a pocket and have enough carbs to raise me up without the risk of getting too high, plus the benefits of an energy supplement. Comes in handy on long motorcycle rides, having a day trip at the zoo in the summer heat, and saved me and another cub scout at camp. Plus, i like the pudding texture and flavors are excellent.

These taste really, really good, and come in a variety of cool flavors. I use them pre-workout on an empty stomach and have no issues. I do drink some water with them as recommended. They definitely give me a little boost that I need to exercise first thing in the morning. I’m okay doing fasted cardio but fasted strength training was not going well. The caffeinated gels seem to provide just enough “motivation” to push through weight lifting without insane amounts of caffeine that other pre-workout products provide. I highly recommended them! I’ve even found myself using one of the non-caffeinated gels as a tasty dessert on a few occasions.

I love this variety pack! I have also tried out other Gu gels but this is one of my favorites because I'm a chocolate girl at heart. I was surprised by how good the vanilla and coffee ones tasted! I also like a little bit of caffine to give me a boost mid run. I like the gel consistency and the tear-away top makes it easy to eat while running. I have definitely re-purchased and recommended to other friends!

This stuff is fantastic. Tastes great. Easy to ingest. Gives almost instant and sustained energy. Not too much caffeine. There's no sugar rush - the impact seems to last a good 30 - 45 minutes, depending on the level of exertion. I didn't ever get the jitters. I would alternate one of these and the Gu Endurance Energy Drink and water. This was my first, but definitely not the last time using these. I used these on a 500-mile ride over 7 days. I tried to stay ahead of the bonk. I didn't want to overdo it. But as soon as I felt my power level drop or a knew there was a big hill, I would tear one of these open and squeeze it into my mouth. It tastes delicious - like a dessert or a liquid candybar. It would take 5 to 10 minutes to kick in. But when it did BAM! My riding partners could notice the impact. When I would sprint to the front of the paceline, they'd say "He must have had another Gu." YES, I DID! LET'S GOOOOO! I also used the Gu Roctane Endurance Energy Drink (both with and without caffeine), Gu stroopwafels, and the Gu Roctane Protein Recovery. It's all that I would consume until dinner. This combo was enough to sustain me every day when riding and left me feeling great. The only thing that I wasn't happy about was that a few of the packages leaked. I wish I figured that out before I was on my trip. Fortunately, I kept them in a Ziploc bag, so the mess was contained. Still, my fingers and feedbag got gooey and sticky every day. The good news is that it washes easily with water. Even with the leakers, I still give this 5 stars.

These GU Energy Gels are a must for my long runs and rides! Easy on the stomach, quick to absorb, and the flavors are actually enjoyable. Love that they’re vegan and gluten-free too. I feel the energy kick in right when I need it—super reliable!

I love the flavor. Really tasted like chocolate, but it is a bit thick to swallow. I feel like you HAVE to have water or your mouth feels super dry. But i mean its still eatable if youre not too picky. they do give a lot pf energy though

I'm watching a road race in France, no not that one, a different one, and I saw these guys sucking these bags of goo before a big climb. So naturally I looked it up and decided I needed to try it. (I don't own a bike and haven't done anything more than a brisk walk in 30 years) I was hoping it was like an illicit drug that was legal and I would be able to perform great feats. Its kinda like coffee and sugar, which is fantastic. I took one before getting on my zero turn mower...I mowed sooo fast. These are delicious and awesome. BTW, you may need a nap about an hour after cause of that sugar and caffeine crash thing.

I was fascinated and also skeptical before buying this item due to other buyers experience of short expiry date for the item. Bought it during sale and to my surprise expiry date is one year and 3 months.

They work fast and taste good. I am so impressed with this product. Some energy powders I’ve tried make me feel unwell. Feel jittery and get heartburn from them. These energy gels make me feel like exercising and I feel great! No heartburn and no unpleasant side effects at all!! Honestly the best I’ve tried. I’ve tried many!
