The work. HOWEVER, they arrive with a clear plastic film over them. I did not notice the film, and I thought my remote control was not working. I was about to buy a new remote, when I was packing up the battery and saw the nicely shrink wrapped film on the battery, which covers the connectors. Once I removed the film, the battery worked perfectly. I do not remember other 9 volts being wrapped this way. It came in a pack of 4, with a plastic cover, so it did not dawn on me to find a film. It would be nice it they covered the connectors with a red film or other color. Anyway, if you are as dense as I am, you have been warned :)

I bought my second pack of these in March 2024 to have a spares after using the last one from my previous purchase. Last night one of my smoke detectors started chirping so I grabbed one of these, which didn't work. A voltage test showed zero voltage. I then tested the others and they were fine. One of those is now in the detector. Hmmm, is one bad one out of eight something to get upset about? Not really, considering the price. Will I buy them again? Nope. It disturbs me to pay for 8 but only get 7 functioning ones. As for how good they are longevity wise, I have used them in my smoke detectors, changing them every year. None have failed during a year. In the case of the one I replaced, it was a new detector with the OEM battery in it.
