Great until you have to change the battery.
EDIT: I updated this review due to the excellent customer service of this company. There is a 12 month product warranty and they sent a replacement. You should still be cautious when changing the battery as the interior of this product is delicate. This loupe works well to see details on small photos; however, this is the second one I've purchased as the first broke when trying to change the batteries. I chalked it up to user error and purchased another one. This one just ran out of juice and changing the batteries is nearly impossible. When you can finally get a tool down in there to get the old button batteries out, the inner circle holding all the interior comes apart and pops out. This leaves wires and inner components exposed and unable to easily put back together. The good news is that I purchased in August and used often and the batteries lasted until January, but not a great tool for longevity use.

Good value for the money, but has some issues
Works just fine, lenses are pretty clear. There's two annoying issues with it however: 1) The button is FAR to easy to hit accidentally even if the thing is in the case given. Do that overnight and you'll need to swap the batteries. 2) The battery holders are annoying as all get out. You WILL want that little wire tool they pack in the box, or a dental pick or something to get the batteries out, and I had to use it to pull the holders out a bit to get the batteries to go in. Next time guys, use a slide switch not a multi-state push button, and make everyone's life easier. I personally wouldn't mind a more exterior battery holder, perhaps with a 2032 or something just to make things easier on the guy changing the batteries, but perhaps that's too much to ask.

Great For Trichomes
First one was defective. Had to get a replacement from Amazon. LED didn't turn off. This is by far the best microscope to view Trichomes. Larger and clearer viewing area than the competition. Highly recommend if you are having trouble viewing Trichomes from other microscope. Worth the money.

Didn’t meet my needs for coins
This is a decent magnifier, but it doesn’t meet my needs for coins. It’s compact—about the size of a shot glass. It comes with a lens cloth, six batteries (three of them pre-installed), a generic carry case with a snap button and a small needle tool. The magnifier isn’t a true 30x; I’d say it’s more like 15–20x. The LED lights are bright, but the UV light isn’t bright enough for me. I checked the battery slots, and the batteries are firmly in place. I had trouble using the small needle pick tool to remove and replace battery, I ended up using a tiny flathead instead. Putting the battery back in requires slightly bending the metal tab to insert battery properly. Overall, it’s sturdy made.

A very versatile jewelers loupe.
I use this mostly to inspect coins and stamps as well as other fine detail on various items. Very good value and easy to use especially when a microscope isn't needed.

This is not a magnifying glass. It is similar to a Jewelers Loupe.
Great for extreme closeup viewing. I used one for years while doing 35mm photography for reading negatives. Now I need one for reading the ID characters that are stamped into many of my pills/meds. I have several that look almost identical and need to make sure I ma not double dosing or subbing one med from another. I have what is called essential tremors and I need help sorting my 24 different pills into the daily dose containers. I recently found that the nurse who last sorted my pills for me doubled my dose of a dieuretic. I am not sure if she did it on purpose but it would have kept me running back and forth to the toilet every 5-10 minutes. My eyes arent so good and unless the light is very bright, and if my hands aren't shaking, and my bifocals are workin for me that day, I may be able to catch the outline of the numbers on the surface of the pill and verify the ID. I remembered how eeasy it was to get an extreme closeup lookin at negatived and decided a loupe would be a good thing to try. This is not a loupe you can hold in your eye like a lightweight monicle or old timey jewelers loupe, but it does the job that I needed done. AND it supplied its own light. That itself was the feature that sold me. As you can see in my images these are different animals. The Photographers loupe is a simple plastic, lightweight loupe. The Amazon loupe supplies its own light, and spaare batteries. The focal length is slightly adjustable. It also has a grid that can be seeen when viewing the small item...and has measuring lines so one can know the exact dimension of the item. More than i need but a welcome feature. If you need simple, search for a photographers loupe. If you like the one that does slightly more, opt for the adjustable jewelers loupe.

Piece of JUNK! Do not buy!
Okay new update in this! Now the light stopped working and it’s impossible to even figure out how to even replace the batteries. Awful purchase and a piece of junk. Do not buy. What a piece of junk. The plastic tab to remove to connect the battery will NOT come out! Plus the area to change the battery will not open. I spent an hour trying to remove the tab and the area to replace the battery. Amazon WILL NOT send me a replacement without returning A MEASLY $11 item and will not send me another! I need this immediately for my job. I will make decisions about my future orders with Amazon. My gosh you’d think I had an expensive item! It’s complete junk!!! This cheap and defective item will get thrown in the trash upon its return anyway and is unless to anyone. What a waste of my time and esp my money!!!!
