Favorite cases
Love Apple's leather cases. They're worth the money. Non-slip and actually get better over time. They're durable. Yes, they'll scratch when dropped on certain surfaces - like concrete - but are great phone protectors. Substantial material, without being bulky. Color matches the advertisement. These are my go-to for every iPhone Ive had.

Nice case. Fits snugly, openings are correct size for charger. Perfect texture.
The reason I wrote "perfect texture" is because the leather is neither too slippery nor too sticky. Silicone cases can't slide in my pocket easily. Plastic cases slide all over my car console with my erratic driving behaviors (from Boston). If I'm stopping short because some idiot in front of me didn't want to kill a squirrel then I don't want my phone flying out of the little spot in front of my shifter. This case doesn't slide easily. If I'm trying to slide my phone in my jeans pocket after a number 2 and it's sticking to the denim and won't slide in, while I'm trying to zip up and wash my hands, well that's a problem. Leather is great. It's classy and has the Apple logo so everyone can see how special I am with my Apple stuff. It has the magnet inside so it charges on the magnet charger no problem. I'd rate this even higher if I could but not as high as my drink glasses because this doesn't get me drunk.

The case is less than 3months old and showing wear. Purple case is fading to black
Save your money! Edge of case already turning black from wear not a great case at all for the money. I’ll stick with Otterbox Symmetry vs this Apple case. Disappointed for the cost.

Classy but slippery
I really like this case, but I don't love it. Here are the most important observations: -fits my iphone 13 like a slightly loose fitting glove. which is personally awesome because it is easy to remove. but does feel snug. -color matches perfectly with green iphone 13 (not as blue as the pictures, but does slightly slightly slightly appear to reflect a little more blue -amazingly has a very similar reflective status as the metal bumper of the iphone 13 -buttons feel exactly the same as without the case (really awesome that they're metal as well) -The case is reasonably thin. it is the thinnest you can go in a standard case thickness until you start getting into ultra-thin territory. -it has a raised edge lip around the from and the back. you can see it in the pictures. it's enough coverage so that the phone doesn't get scratched up on surfaces and falls. -I just wish it wasn't so slippery. I think they're focusing on a premium feel instead for this leather model, but out of the box, it's harder to grip that the phone without a case. and that's a massive loss.

It's authentic
OK, this Midnight Leather iPhone 13 case was selling at a discount on Amazon, sort of surprising. Just my lucky day. I've tried the "golden leather" Apple case, but it was disappointing with a very messy, ugly patina. So I wanted a switch to this midnight leather case. At a discount, though? Suspicious. So ... Q: Is this an authentic Apple iPhone 13 case? A: Yes, it is. Comes with all the Apple packaging. Q: Does it perfectly fit an iPhone 13, buttons and all? A: Yes it does. Q: Does it have a soft, smooth, slightly grippy leather feel? A: Yes, quite nice. Q: Is it a boring black color? A: Pretty much. Not deep black, though. More like a very dark grey. Q: Will it have an interesting patina? Probably not. And that is fine.

Not as good as the old apple leather cases
I bought this product based on reviews I’ve read about apple leather cases for older iPhones like the IPhone X. Unfortunately, apple has changed how they make these cases since the iPhone 12. I bought the golden brown hoping it would patina nicely and get darker with time. Upon receiving the product, I could already tell this wasn’t going to happen. I am a bit of a leather worker and make wallets and holsters so know a bit about types of leather and finishing leather products. This product appears to be a thin layer of chrome tanned leather with a sort of paint finish. As such, the leather won’t absorb oils and naturally patina. The paint like coating can wear off exposing the leather underneath over time, but this won’t look very nice like a natural patina. I applied neatsfoot oil to the case but none of it was able to penetrate the coating apple applies to the leather. I wish apple used a nice dyed vegetable tanned leather for this product that would naturally show wear over time. My guess their reasoning not to do this is that vegetable tanned leather should be maintained with oils over time. I would recommend this case to someone who enjoys the factory colors offered and are not wanting a natural patina. I am not overly happy with the golden brown color as it is more orange than brown. Knowing now that it wouldn’t patina, I wish I brought another color. This case will protect your phone, but the leather is somewhat fragile and very thin. With only about 10 days of using it, I already have some scratches on the case. I think in a year of use, it is going to show some serious wear. Update: I have now had the case for about a month and a half. The second picture is the wear on the case now. It is pretty substantial wear and I expected it to look like this in about 6 months, not 1.5. The “patina” appears to be the paint type coating to be wearing on the edges. This case doesn’t patina like normal leather would. I dropped my phone once during this period from about 4 ft onto tile. The bottom left corner hit the ground. There was no damage to the phone besides a cracked screen protector. The case didn’t show much damage either. However there is a bare spot in my second picture where you can see the leather is missing. I’m not sure what caused this. I just noticed that one day the leather was loose here like it’d been scraped up against something. It’s possible that something I had in my pocket (like my keys) scratched it substantially. I tore off the hanging leather little piece and now have I kind of bare spot on the case. There are a few other little pieces where the leather is kind of fraying like this from nicks. I had hoped the leather would be more resistant to this type of wear. The main culprit is that the leather is extremely thing and has a hard backing.

Great Case
When I received my first I Phone it had an Apple leather case on it. The case was soft, snug, and had just the right amount of grip. When I lately upgraded my phone I needed a new case and immediately went to Amazon to get one. No shopping around from store to store - just ordered from home and delivered the next day. I use my phone a lot for photography and a lot of the situations require a good grip on the phone so I don't drop or lose it. The leather case is perfect. And it also keeps the phone from slipping out of my jeans back pocket. A win win solution.
