I was using another product for many years. The hair salon I frequent started to use this on me. It is the lightest weight paste I have ever used. It has excellent holding power. It doesn't appear that you are using any product. It's the best styling product I have ever used.

I have stick-straight hair that tends to literally stand on end without product. I have been a firm hold gel user with a fairly short cut for most of my life. I recently let the top of my hair grow out quite a bit more with somewhat of a fade from the sides to the top. With my very defiant hair, I was looking for something that would give my longer hair flexibility with a more natural look of sitting politely on top of my head vs. a crazy gel helmet, but I also needed to tame the sides that were still very short. This paste has been the magic bullet in balancing the needs of my two lengths of hair. The product has enough weight to help hold my longer hair in place, but it also has this lasting tackiness that keeps the short hair under control. Overall, it’s sort of like my hair after two days without a wash…but without the unsanitary greasy feeling. The one downside is that this product does stay tacky for two days and that will find its way to your hands if you touch your head. Small price to pay for a great, versatile product…plus it smells really nice.

I was bummed out when I learned that Davines discontinued the For Wizard line. I've been using the No. 2 Gesso for the past three years and was pretty happy with its hold. I found an article saying this pliable paste is the closes thing in this new line to my old product. I can not agree anymore. I've only used this new product for the first day but I can say that the hold is very similar. I actually enjoy the smell of this new product a little better.

This smells so good I want to eat it. I am obsessed with the scent! The hold is very good, it is a bit sticky but that’s typical for a paste and it keeps my postpartum baby hairs held in place which is exactly what I need it to do! I love Davines products and this one is another hit for me!

I have been using this on the advice of my high end hairstylist for many years. It is great. It holds my hair in a combed style without looking like it's been cast out of metal. (My hair is naturally curly and this product gives me what other guys call "flow", without getting obnoxious rich boy looking curls in the front. I have also used another Davines product I have tried that comes in the same shaped tube, but blue label, and I've also used the old standard Brylcreem. This is the best of the three.
