Does well. Transfers to device are fast a long as on USB3. No problems with it at all. UPDATE:01/09/2024 Drive lost the partition suddenly. Was working fine, then gone :( Contacted Seagate and have all the required details to return it to Holland. Now to find a box and 4 inches of foam! Seagate have told me they will attempt recovery of the files and put to a new internal hard drive and replace this drive. Seems fair enough and also warned it could take 6 weeks or more. I have software that can recover a failed drive but it was unable to read an awful lot of files so purchase EASEUS Data recovery (using a discount code for £75 lifetime licence with updates for life) and this was a life saver. Bought another 8TB internal Seagate drive from amazon to transfer the files to. All going well. There are a few files that have been damaged but can download them again. The concern is why these files are damaged. They seem to be 'scattered' parts of files with no details of what or who they belonged to. Had no problems at all with customer service, used the main Seagate website to contact support. One single adviser who was very good. Edit: 07/09/2024 Reformatted drive. Drive initially very slow to transfer files and I mean like 1.2mbps, really slow. Decided to move disk across to my smaller Windows 11 computer which I also purchased some time ago from Amazon, Nipogi, it has not missed a beat since and works very fast. Downside is there must be a USB controller problem on my old desktop. Decided against returning the drive to Seagate as I got all the files off perfectly with the EaseUS software.

This is a very nice piece of kit. The good point being the large storage capacity but don't expect the world when it comes to speed as it doesn't read data at anywhere near the speeds of my SSD . For the money it's very nice but as others have said you can't load data onto it directly via the usb and that's my only down point

I bought this 6TB drive, because my music, picture and video backups were spread over a number of different external drives, which were all getting full. This is the first Seagate drive I’ve bought: I’ve always used Toshiba drives before and never had a problem. But the price of this one was good for its size and Seagate is a serious brand, so I gave it a try. Unfortunately, my experience is exactly the same as the experiences of some other one-star reviewers. It started out fine, transferring via USB3 at a rate I’ve never managed before (recording up to 170 MB/s at one point). Then, after about 20 minutes, it started to slow down, and slow down some more, until it was transferring at between 5 and 10 MB/s. I waited a few hours; but it didn’t speed up again. At that rate the drive would have taken days or even weeks to fill. I tried the drive on two other desktops and a laptop with the same result. I used three different cables, but no change. I even rolled back my main PC by a week, in case trying to make the Seagate work had created any issues: but it was still the same. My other portable and external hard drives work fine on all my machines; it’s just this one that refuses to. A lot of people leave good reviews of this drive, so I’m not sure why it doesn’t work for some. I wonder if it’s an issue with trying to copy very large amounts of data in one go. But, if a 6TB drive isn’t capable of that, then it can’t be used as a backup drive, so what’s the point of it? I received this drive last week and I’ve wasted more hours than I can count trying to make it work. I can’t waste any more, so it’s going back today. Luckily, I hadn’t put any personal data on it yet, so I’ve been able to use a one pass secure delete program to wipe it clean. My first and last Seagate; next time I’ll read the reviews first.

Got it to backup and archive my videos and editing projects from various SSD’s. Tried using the software provided by Seagate to copy all the files and it was horribly slow and failed mid copying from an SSD so had to format and do everything all over again. Later tried just drag and dropping to copy the files and managed to copy 1TB in about 2 hours. Obviously slower than modern SSD’s which I’ve gotten used to but for the price am very happy with the amount of storage and speed. Hopefully lasts long enough, will edit review if any issues occur.

Very good drive with plenty of storage I went for the 8TB Drive and am very happy with the performance its very quiet in use and seems to read and write very quickly it has a USB hub on the front so effectively it does not take up a USB socket on the PC I am very impressed with this drive so much so that I bought a second one in my opinion its well worth taking a look at if you are planning to upgrade your storage

Being a photographer, I am in regular need on backup drives. I saw this 10tb drive on Amazon for around £195 and it seemed to fit the criteria. I managed to buy a seller returned item so it only actually cost me £135 so I bagged an absolute bargain. Impressions... Looks great, is mains powered so has a built in fan to keeps things cool. Has a USB 3.0 and a USB-C slot on the front too, so I can plug in card readers.etc I did need to format this to exFAT for it to work. I'm not sure if that's because of this drive or if its because its a seller returned. Either way, no biggy. Overall, as hard drives go...I'm pleased.

It turns itself off very often when temporary unused and then restarts again what makes it rather slow in those moment's . When it’s already started works really well it’s responsive and perfect for storing big amount of small files looks like it’s made for this. If you need something for storage old files only worth buying but if you need something responsive it’s not your product . It’s also pretty noisy like old fashioned hard drives . Installation was easy you just plug it in thru usb and it’s there ready for use like a pen drive just bigger.

Estoy muy contento con el Seagate One Touch Hub de 8 TB. Este disco duro externo es perfecto para mis necesidades de almacenamiento, especialmente para mi trabajo con videos en 4K. Velocidad Rápida Gracias a su conexión USB-C y USB 3.0, las transferencias de archivos son rápidas. Mover archivos grandes, como videos en 4K, es mucho más rápido y sencillo. Funcionalidad de HUB Lo mejor de este modelo es que puedo conectar mi móvil o portátil directamente al disco duro. Esto facilita cargar dispositivos y transferir archivos sin complicaciones, porque para los videos de YouTube grabo muchos recursos con el IPhone y Time-lapses con otro smartphone, y pasar todos los archivos por telegram era muchísimo tiempo. El diseño es elegante y funciona bien con ordenadores de sobremesa, portátiles y Mac. Es compacto y no ocupa mucho espacio. Refrigeración y Ruido El disco duro prácticamente ni se escucha, y demás refrigera bastante bien, analizándolo con CrystalDisk mientras paso 300GB de video no pasa de 42ºC y estamos en Mayo, con unos 22ºC en mi estudio. Conclusión El Seagate One Touch Hub de 8 TB es una excelente inversión. Su gran capacidad, rapidez y funcionalidad adicional lo hacen destacar. ¡Muy recomendado! Voy a incluir algunas imágenes del producto y de las pruebas de velocidad para que puedan ver lo bien que funciona.

I haven't used the USB port, but so far it's great. No issues other than it was a bit slow at the beginning.

I wanted a thing that can store my files without losing it. This thing can do so, or so it looks like. Noise and speed does not bother me, but it's within expectations. The only gripe I have is with the power supply: It's absolutely huge and in the way on my wall setup.
