Stopped working…
Stopped working after six weeks of use - no reason why, new batteries put in, just won’t work!

It does its job to open at the timing set. Easy to set up and clean. My rabbit knows where to find food when it opens up. Very convenient especially when we went home late and the little will still have his pellets and vegetables opened up to him when it’s feeding time. It makes life easier for both humans and rabbit! This is relatively cheaper compared to the big feeders. Love this!

I'm not sure why there are negative reviews; probably user error (or ignorance on the part of an owner who doesn't anticipate their large dog trying to chew it up), but this has been working great. My dog (who is smaller and has never chewed anything she wasn't supposed to) requires seizure medication every 8 hours, and this allows me to administer her meds when I'm away or sleeping. I roll her pill in a piece of a Pill Pocket, then add some smelly salmon jerky treat next to it so the scent attracts her it when it opens. I am intentional about not turning the dial counter-clockwise as I imagine this could damage the mechanism. It's completely silent and very quiet when it pops open. I'll update in the event it stops working, but so far, so good.

I have three of these i used when i go one holidays . Only problem the corners the cat licks the food into the corners and it is wasted would like to see more rounded product. Otherwise work well.

Nothing fancy, so the likelihood of failure is limited to a product defect or expired battery. What you control in that scenario is the battery. If you don't put one in, or if you put one in that expires during your absence, your pet is out of luck. You will want to test the product to ensure it works before you use it. Getting the battery in can be a struggle, and this snugness is mentioned in the instructions, along with the manufacturer's advice on how to most easily insert it. This isn't a huge hurdle, but a minor inconvenience. I imagine it's a snug fit because if the pet jostled the dish and the battery came lose, the device is inoperable. It will feed your small or mid-sized pet twice in a 24-hour period. There are two separate bowls in one molded piece. It is not two separate bowls, should that matter to you. I can not imagine why it would. For a larger animal, I would think you'd need to fill both bowls and synchronize the timers so the pet could have one decent meal. I suppose there are more expensive dishes that can be controlled using WiFi and an app. But that technology can also fail. The smart thing to do is place this dish where you can view it on a web cam, where you can check to see if your pet got a meal. As an option, there are similar dishes that cost slightly more. They have separate bowls and 48-hour timers, and also include a cold pack that allows you to chill wet food for a span. There's no cold pack option here.

Great product for timing meals when not at home for pet .. only negative is numbers come off the dial over time and difficult to see the time
