Good beginner kit
Interesting kit, but definitely beginner level. Parts need a lot of cleaning up, the tow car is a "curbside" model with not engine or suspension.

Difficult to know where to start, as the moulds for these kits originated in the mid 1960's, so they are difficult to compare to modern kits. I was slightly disappointed to find the Ford Galaxie is one of the un-assembled promotional models that were originally issued in the lower priced AMT 'Craftsman' series. It's a simple design, and it has no engine detail, apart from a lightly detailed plate to cover the empty engine bay when viewed from underneath. The rest of the chassis detail is sparse, but adequate. It has a one piece interior and wheels that fit on metal axles, so you can push the completed model about, I suppose. The For Falcon dragster is a little better. It has an engine and suitably detailed running gear, with a bit more detail on the chassis and interior. A good decal sheet is provided too. The trailer is , I think, a generic one that has appeared in several other AMT kits over the years. Again, a bit simplified, but it's not bad. The fit of parts in these models was not the best sixty years ago when they were originally issued, so they will need care in assembly and will not fall together as many of the modern, Japanese items do. Spend some time on them them, paint them carefully, and the result will be more than acceptable. I'd suggest this one if for experienced model makers. So: on the plus side, you do get three complete kits in one box. On the minus side, these are somewhat simplified. I do find it hard to understand the prices now asked for re-issued AMT kits I have seen this one at over £70, so £55 wasn't bad, but there are more modern kits available at this sort of price. This one is for serious fans of 60's American cars only.

Falcon Funny Car is fantastic, although the fuel injection stacks were a trial. Galaxy tow car is a “bust “ - poor fit, poor finish . All molded in chassis - not a model, no assembly. I buy a model, I expect it to be a model for asphalt.
