Short Stories in French for Intermediate Learners

I read this out loud weekly with a friend. Great to learn vocabulary and grammar. Learn some idioms and practice pronunciation.

Really enjoying this book. Learning new words - easy to read with bite-sized chapters. Would absolutely buy another like this.

The stories are very similar if not the same between all of the different language books. I used this book to retouch my french and it is a very decent read :), would definitely recommend if youre trying to learn but start from the beginner book obviously.

I found the stories in this intermediate level book not engaging and no where near as wonderful as the stories in the beginner level book. I just had no interest in reading almost all of these. Quite odd as the beginner book stories were all amazing and lovely. The themes of the stories in this intermediate book were far less whimsical and lighthearted. Still giving it 4 stars as format of the book is good. Just wish they continued on with similar more upbeat (less violent and depressing) stories like the beginner level.

Though the stories aren’t exactly literature, they are packed full of useful phrases and conversational exchanges I think reading the book will turbo-charge what I’m learning on a popular language app.

Very well written and well-constructed, engaging short stories with supportive vocab and phrases. Fun to read, with vocabulary related to everyday conversation. Highly recommend.

I did not like the short stories. They were too dark for my taste but you may like them. I do think these books are excellent for learning.

These books are not only helpful for increasing one's vocabulary and overall understanding of the French language, but they're simply fun to read. ,

It has interesting stories and the phrases which I would not know are in bold and translated into English at the end of the chapter.

Really nice one. The stories are really interesting. And I'm not a novice as I've read, let's say, 10 such easy-written books in French. And a few in other lgs, so I highly recommend 💁 I wish there was another one for advanced learners as well.

The book is good and overall a great way to further develop French fluency and gain more vocabulary. However, I will not give five stars as I have come across a few mistakes and typos which I would not expect from a serious published book. For instance, I found one in which there is a mix between English and French in one sentence: “Ari AND Denza ont alors...”
