A hard-pressed farmer brings in a mysterious accountant with a knack for numbers and a love of beer. Goggins and King are fantastic. It's quirky as hell and McKinnon's performance as The Accountant is one you'll not forget. Take 40 minutes out of your life and watch this. At under ten bucks this a no-brainer blind buy for anyone who is a big fan of McKinnon or Goggins. And the dialogue...Hilarious!!! The music is great. The songs that bookend the film (Jimmie Dale Gilmore with "Mack the Knife" at the beginning and Michael Hurley's "I Paint a Design" at the end) are perfect. What's even wilder than everything else is the film has a message and it's beautifully delivered. I'm thoroughly impressed. As a Southerner, it's comforting to find something this good and honest that deals with being a Southerner. Films that try are usually filled with stereotypes with bad accents. These three men nailed it in such a way I've never seen before and it's refreshing. My only complaint about this DVD is that it does not have a single extra. It's just the film with chapter stops. A commentary track would have been a nice bonus. Still, the film is highly entertaining on its own and is worth the few bucks I paid for it. Fans of any of these three guys should not be disappointed in this. Review: I have this movie memorized - I love this movie. I first saw this movie close to 20 years ago, and I've seen it probably 20 times since. Before streaming, I would buy DVD copies to send to all my friends. The social commentary is important, and the movie is absolutely hilarious as well. It's an Academy Award-winning short film, and it's much deserved. That being said, I can see it may not be for every audience. It's not a "Hollywood" kind of film. If you think "The Accountant" with Ben Affleck (NOT an Academy Award winner) was a good movie, you're probably not going to enjoy this film. This film is not a "feel-good" comedy, it's trying to point out the impact of industrialization and large corporations on society as a whole, and on the independence and identity of the individual. The point is not that the viewer thinks it's funny that it's suggested that he kills his wife and dog, the point is to what extent does a person have to go in order to maintain the lifestyle sold to us by the global corporate machine. But I could be wrong about all that. There's always a 3-5% margin of error....

You should watch this movie.
Wow, this is a heavy movie. Well made, interesting characters, and about a subject matter not often acknowledged. Video arrived in a timely manner.

Dark humor with a twist!
Well forth the viewing! NOT your Ben Affleck variety...Actually better dark humor! Ray McKinnon and Walton Goggins are spectacular!!

Morally bankrupt film
Language is unnecessarily and regularly obscene. Otherwise it's also exceptionally violent. Revenge, hate, and other human sicknesses.

Great Movie
Affleck delivers again. Great movie. I've seen it a few times.

Quirky Funny and Thought Provoking
I liked this movie. It was quirky. Sometimes funny. But had an interesting message about how banks and big agriculture are pushing small farmers out of farming, off the land and into cities and factory jobs. It is a short movie about 45 minutes.

Extremely well-acted, drawing you in immediately. Good short story-plot.

This is with Walton Goggins and Ray Mckinnon, a deep south film. again, I purchased this as it had Walton Goggins in it, I had no idea what it entailed but it was different. I wouldnt watch it again.
