Fantastic tea! I'm new to tea drinking as a ...
Fantastic tea! I'm new to tea drinking as a ritual. The teas I've had before were horrible. Simply horrible. No flavor, dust, and frankly a waste of money. Organic or not. I never understood what the rage was about. Having had a decent tea- " _azo," I thought 'hmm there may be something to this?' Alas the nylon bag was not up to my health standard. Imagine a petroleum based product (tea bag) in near boiling water that you are drinking?. Nahhh. That was not going to work. I needed an affordable tea, that could offer serious quality, flavor, and be organic! I had ordered loose fine whole coffee beans before and knew for better coffee you had to do some searching at real coffee purveyors; dedicated fine coffee bean shops. Finely I decided to take the dip and order loose leaf tea, from a tea purveyor, (Tealux) and boy was I blown away! Incredible rich white tea flavor! Smooth, delicate, layered and not bitter. Rich enough to replace good coffees. If you are looking for a new morning ritual, and are willing to pay the outrageous prices for coffee at a certain coffee shop, try really good organic white/green tea! The prices for Tealux are moderately high but not nearly as high as the so-called "BEST" white/green teas. And definitely no higher per serving I've found, than what many people are willing to pay for a cup of very mediocre coffee at a certain shop....... You really are missing out. To complete the ritual I bought a gorgeous Michael Graves tea kettle from "electronic bay" and the FORLIFE LUCENT Glass Teapot with Basket Infuser for steeping my tea from Amazon. FORLIFE LUCENT Glass Teapot with Basket Infuser, 24-Ounce, Charcoal Lets me drink my tea in style and incredible functionality!. 5 stars for this tea!

Amazing White Tea! <3
I am a foodie and artist, appreciating well made food with great flavor, drinks as well, and timeless art. Regarding this tea, I was surprised at the long lasting light flavor and gorgeous color. It is my first time trying White Tea. I recently fell in love with Oolong tea. Ok, although the bag suggests using 1 to 1.5 teaspoons per 8oz glass (of course teaspoons by sight does not make sense since the leaves take up volume. I used a digital food scale.) I weighed out 1 gram of those beautiful needle shaped tea leaves. Placed them in my twisted to close infuser. Added 16 oz. of hot water about 190 degrees F as suggested with a little Splenda for sweetness, you can use non, sugar, or honey per you taste. Anyway, I let it steep for about 4 minutes and removed the infuser and enjoyed one of the best cups of tea I've had to date. I then went ahead and used that same infuser with leaves to steep 2 more cups!!!! Yes, he flavor of 1 gram of the leaves to me at least, was strong enough for 4 cups (32 oz.) of magnificent tea. Go ahead and order with assurance. Thumbs way up! I will def. will be re-ordering from them in the future.

A great white tea, and a great starter if you've never tried white teas.
If you have never tried White Tea before this is a great starting place. Should you enjoy teas such as Jasmine Pearls or Dragon Well, you should certainly try this out. A light tea with floral and less-grassy flavors than one would get with green tea. A really fantastic price:quality ratio and the best Silver Needle you are going to find on Amazon. This is certainly not top-shelf white tea but is great to have on hand when you're not going for the good stuff. It is highly recommended that you have a solid-bodied air-tight container to put this tea inside of when it arrives. Tealyra's bags are re-sealable and that's not an issue; but these tea leaves are fragile and you don't want them to get crushed or broken up while in storage. It is also recommended that you measure out this tea (and other large-leaf teas that are too-big for a teaspoon measurement like Dragon Well (or any top-shelf tea period)) by weight in grams using a scale and not by measuring spoon for best results. Make sure to use the correct temperature and do not prepare like a green or black tea. We tend to use a little more tea and a little less time than the bag calls for but we like to get at least two or three steeps from the leaves. Tea benefits from a tea-bath before brewing for best flavor extraction; but tea dust has thus-far with this product not been an issue for us.

not impressed
I am not impressed with this tea one bit.. It is nothing like the tea my family brought from Vietnam and is more like Jasmine tea in both smell and taste.. The leaves are not properly ripened like the Yan Hou Tang. I have been drinking Bai Hao Yin Zhen (Silver Needle) for years. These leaves are too immature and don't even look like proper Yin Zhen which has little boat shaped leaves that can be a bit furry, and sometimes bluish green ion color to a soft golden depending on harvest and location.. This one has leaves like tiny, green automatic pencil leads... It also tastes like it is grown much farther down the mountain. Tea, like coffee and tobacco, picks up the nature of the environment in which it's grown. You do get a lot in this bag, but If I Had Wanted Jasmine.. I would have bought that.. Proper silver needle is a highland type of pekoe tea and grows near the tree line. One ought to be transported in the mind to a lovely chalet somewhere, all wrapped up and cozy in blankets, overlooking a beautiful valley at sunrise.. You can smell and taste the morning frost melting, and the cedars and pines, just from the scent and first sip.. This tea is absolutely nothing like that. I felt like I had just ordered Japanese Golden Monkey.. which drinks like poor quality Darjeeling. I suppose, that is what I get for trying to save a little money. *sighs* thanks, but no thanks.. Won't buy again, and now to try to find someone who can, and will be able to take it off my hands.
