“Amazon Products I Actually Use”
ProOne Big+ Gravity Water Filter System High Capacity Countertop Stainless Steel Water Filter Dispenser IAPMO Certified to Reduce Lead, Total PFAS, Microplastics, Chlorine Taste & Odor, 3 Pack Filter I bought the ProOne Big+ gravity system because I wanted a countertop option that didn’t require installation and had certified filtration. The stainless-steel build feels solid and well-made. Setup was straightforward, and I like that it doesn’t require electricity. The water tastes noticeably cleaner and smoother compared to straight tap water, especially with chlorine taste reduced. One thing to note: it does take some time for the water to filter through, so it’s not instant. But the large capacity makes up for that since you can fill it and let it run. I also appreciate that the filters are IAPMO certified and tested to reduce lead, PFAS, microplastics, and chlorine taste & odor. That gave me more confidence compared to generic filters. PROS: Large capacity Stainless Steel how much it filters CONS: filters little pricey does take up space Overall, it’s been a practical addition to my kitchen and something I use daily.

Outstanding water filter - with some caveats
This is a wonderful, simple mechanical water filter that lasts and doesn't come with high maintenance costs. Coming from an Aquatru (that somehow stopped working after a few months, even after I had replaced every single part), I appreciate the better value and simpler setup. The water comes out tasting pretty good, too. Overall, we prefer the Proone Big+ to the Aquatru. Here's what you should know, though: 1. The system comes with up to three filters (configurable during purchase). The tank is always the same, the point of the filters is that you'll get filtered water at greater speed. How many filters should you start with, you ask? It depends on your family size and consumption. But it's absolutely possible to just start with one, then buy more later if needed. 2. Know that this filtration system is slow. We're using a one-filter setup, and you're getting roughly one drop of water per second and filter. We're a family of seven and get all of our drinking water and most cooking water from this. I'm considering getting a second filter, but for now, we're taken care of. In order to make it work with one filter, we're ignoring the manufacturer recommendation to let the top tank empty into the bottom tank completely before refilling. The only purpose of this recommendation is to avoid overflows of the clean water tank. We haven't had any spills so far, but getting enough filtered water requires regular monitoring of the water levels in both tanks. Without the optional transparent spigot, this requires picking up the tap water tank a few times a day to check both levels. Plus, you have to remember fill up the tank at night to give the system time to filter enough water for the next morning over night. Nevertheless, considering how slowly this filter works, it is really working surprisingly well for us. 3. Before you buy the Big+, consider your tap water supply and the system's height. This filtration system just may not work in some kitchens or settings. It's about 2 feet tall, so it may not fit on some countertops, and it ideally needs its own permanent place in the kitchen (near the sink). And consider how you're going to refill it. You can't just take the tap water tank to the sink like a bucket, because it would drip and you might get the bottom dirty (which is the top of the clean water tank). Rather, you have to fill the system from the top. This works best when your system is located by the sink and you have the kind of faucet that can be extended by 2 feet. In our kitchen, the Big+ is sitting 10 ft from the sink, and we're using large thermos bottles or cook pots to refill it. Which is working fine for our purposes, but it's something you should be aware of.

Glad we bought this
Good product! We feel so much better knowing that our water is better quality, better for our health. One con: There should be a gauge of some type to indicate water level. You have to pick the top up & peer into the bottom to see if it needs to be refilled; otherwise, you run the risk of overfilling & filtered water overflowing onto your floor. (I've done that). 🤦🏼♀️

Very Disappointed
I did a considerable amount of research before choosing a water filter system for my home. I had specific requirements that I was looking for, such as effective removal of toxic fluoride from my tap water. Also, the removal of chlorine and other potential disinfectants was important to me. The various disinfectants serve a useful and important purpose in the recycling of the water, but can be harmful to the digestive system and microbiome. Therefore, removal of disinfectants prior to consumption is important as well. I've been purchasing spring water in plastic gallon jugs for some time, but I wanted to stop contributing to the growing plastic pollution problem. So making my municipal tap water clean and pleasant to drink was what I was aiming for. This ProOne water filter system aligned with my goals and was well reviewed. However, as is too often the case these days, the workmanship and quality control by the manufacturer is sorely lacking. Is it widespread or just isolated cases? I don't know, I only know what happened in my particular case. And I know this could have been easily prevented in at least three different phases of the manufacturing process: during production, during quality control inspection, and during packaging. Even if the manufacturer is having the stainless steel water chambers made overseas (e.g., China) there is still an obligation on the manufacturer and seller to ensure that all their products meet reasonable standards. That is obviously NOT being done consistently at ProOne. And if it's not being done for one product line, it's likely being ignored in other product lines as well. So buyer beware. In my case, I received a defective product that clearly shows deep tool marks, scratches, and rough edges. The tool marks and scratches allow the filtered water to come into contact with the bare metal and introduce the possibility of rust developing and metal ions being released into the drinking water. The mirror finish in the stainless steel water chambers should be undamaged throughout the entire surface of the chamber to ensure safe storage of the filtered water. The rough edges of the cutout for the spigot can cause damage to seals and result in potential water leaks. That is wholly unacceptable and completely avoidable, and suggests the manufacturer/seller is more concerned with profits than consumer safety. The content of ProOne's website indicates concern for consumer safety and high standards, but the reality is made obvious in the pictures I've uploaded. I'd like to hear from the seller and be provided with a believable explanation of how this happens, and how they're going to fix the manufacturing shortcomings, and an appropriate resolution to the issue of the defective product I've been sold. If that happens I will update this review to reflect an appropriate and acceptable course of action taken by the seller. On the other hand if there is no update to this review, just know that I returned the defective ProOne water filtration product to Amazon for a full refund, purchased a higher quality water filter, and the seller doesn't deserve your trust or business. *** UPDATE *** In this particular case, there are two different entities involved. There is the manufacturer, ProOne, and the seller who is offering the manufacturer's product for resale. The seller understands customer service and promptly did the right thing by refunding my money. ProOne, on the other hand, took no responsibility and would not send me a replacement water chamber. Instead, the person I spoke with tried to persuade me to use the damaged water filter system as is. That makes this review rather complicated because the people are like polar opposites and the way each treats a customer service issue is vastly different. So I do not hesitate to heap praise on the seller, but I must urge caution against buying a ProOne product, based upon my experience.
