Wyoming Sheriff Walt Longmire is back in the saddle for a third thrilling season. After winning his heated re-election as Absaroka County sheriff vs. his ambitious deputy Branch Connally, Walt now faces a stampede of problems both personal and professional. Last season, Walt and his deputies each braved a storm and did it nobly. But for every storm, there is an aftermath.Bonus Content:THE GHOST IN THE STORM featurette - the documentary will focus upon the density of material that is viewed through the simplest of human emotions regarding obsession. Once the ghosts are vanquished, where do the characters go from here? Have they truly survived trauma and picked up their proverbial “pieces”? Is the end of obsession, the end of purpose over their lives, or is Season Three the re-birth? Review: Long Live Longmire! BLU-RAY is the only way to go for this great series, and Season 3 is the best yet.... - One of the best shows of modern-day television....and it got cancelled by the (expletives deleted) at A&E. Thankfully, there will be a Season 4 elsewhere, but the most important thing is to be able to experience this magnificently produced, beautifully shot, and brilliantly crafted series on Blu-ray disc. Just as the Season 1 & 2 combo set did for me, the presentation of Season 3 on Blu-ray knocked the pants off broadcast television or internet streaming. The quality of the image just isn't nearly as good, and these Blu-ray discs have been impeccably authored by Warner Brothers at a high bitrate to enable the maximum opportunity to take in the gorgeous cinematography, and the amazing performances by Robert Taylor, Lou Diamond Phillips and the whole cast at their best. Season 3 raised the stakes, with tighter writing and deeper insight into the characters. Too many great TV shows today are not available on Blu-ray, but only on DVD or streaming, and it drives me a little nuts when a show as well made as Longmire isn't given its due. Thanks to Warner for seeing to it that Walt, Henry, Branch, Vic & Co. look and sound as good as they do on this wonderful Blu-ray set. P.S.: Love the extra feature documentary. Very well done! Review: Getting Better With Age - I really liked the first two seasons of Longmire. And, the third season was also very good except that I felt it got a little too crazy toward the end. Nevertheless, Longmire and Hell On Wheels, the only two TV series I ever watch, are both excellent entertainment filled with gutsy story lines and amazing supporting casts. I am half way through season 4 of Longmire, as it is available on Netflix, and I am completely stunned at how well this series has evolved. Every one of these shows are extremely well made, with season 4 the best yet in my estimation. It is a shame if this series doesn't get at least a few more years. I am afraid to watch any other series because I feel that 95% of them would never live up the expectations I have after watching Longmire and Hell On Wheels. Of course, it is easy for me to say this because I truly love Westerns of all kinds.

Excellent Modern Western
This is a great series and pays pretty fair homage to the books by Craig Johnson. If you like the "strong silent type" of Western lawmen you will really get into Walt Longmire. Set in Wyoming near a Cheyenne reservation, Longmire deals with all manner of accidents, murders and other nefarious activities of the local populace. This takes place with a lot of wonderful large sky scenic vistas and the background intrigue of his wife's murder, prior issues of his deputies and the small town politics that try to stymie his actions at every turn! There are six seasons of this series so there is a lot to like and it is a first rate production with good plot lines and good acting by Robert Taylor, Lou Diamond Phillips and Gerald McRaney!

Great storylines
I'm currently watching season 3 after thoroughly enjoying seasons 1 and 2. I really enjoy the separate plot lines for each character through the episodes. I would think that Absaroka county must have one of the highest murder rates in the country. I like all the characters (Vic isn't quite what I imagined from the books) and would highly recommend this series of DVDs. Great series and much better viewing than any prime time show.

Longmire is a marvelous series
It was terribly disappointing when A&E quit producing and broadcasting this sophisticated, emotion-packed, high-quality series, and it was a few years before I subscribed to Netflix, which picked it up after A&E dropped it. In the interim, I truly missed it and decided to order the DVDs from Amazon. The main characters, yes even the women, are strong and rugged folks possessing all the personal qualities consistent with the rugged life of the American West. Each has a moral backbone made of pure titanium ... and an innovative way of detecting crime and administering justice. I like the way the DVDs have special features that allow the viewer to become better acquainted with the filming locations, the issues associated with production of the series, the actors -- and the characters they play.

A must-have for the Longmire collector!
Watched these episodes originally on tv, but after the series was cancelled, they didn't even show reruns of them! Have enjoyed having the dvd, so I can continue to view them when I want. This was a great show, with good story lines and a great cast. Based on the series of books, of course, and most of the main characters are similar to the books. But as stand-alone entertainment, they're also very good, if you've never read any of the books. There are plenty of plot twists to keep viewers coming back for more--which could explain why there was such an uproar from the public when the series was cancelled after this season. All in all, a good purchase.

Intense & Excellent
I LIKE the "Longmire" series and was extremely disappointed to find that this 3rd Season was only 10 episodes - Season 2 was 13 episodes & I like being able to spend more time with Longmire. At first I thought this must be the Series 'ender', so okay - when you've run out of 'material' might as well just end things, but we were left with enough of a Cliff Hanger to move onto Season 4 (I don't use Cable - use my money to collect DVDs or Bluray - so don't know what's 'coming up on TV' ) I thought this Season was more intense than 1st two & just Excellent (the 4 stars was for 'less' episodes) - How do you say "Can't wait for next Season"?

For all those Longmire fans who want to veg out on the couch and see how the tv saga continues. I really enjoyed season 1 and 2 and got my trigger happy father-in-law hooked. He seems very pleased with this season. Can't wait to go visit and watch a bit of this present!

As Branch recovers from being shot, he believes David Ridges, who was thought to have committed suicide and was cremated, was the one who shot him.
