Dorman 926-242 Front Passenger Side Door Molding Compatible with Select Cadillac/Chevrolet/GMC Models, Gloss Black

My part was loose on my 2016 Tahoe and I didn’t tend to it in time - hence it fell of while driving on a busy highway. Went to retrieve the part off the busy highway only to find it broke. Had to order a replacement and GM was sold out! So Amazon to the rescue! Was easy to put on and my baby (Tahoe) is all fixed up now and looks perty.

Exactly as described

This product is a great fit, the cost of the product is great as well, but there is a design flaw with these. The top piece you screw in on the two panels I bought was glued in and to much glue was used so it did not seat well and therefore stuck out. I don’t know why GM would even design something like this. If you bought a tahoe brand new they are $75k-$85k to have to replace these. Why should anyone have to put more money out. Hats off to Dorman you tried. I’m taking the pieces I have and trying to come up with my own solution with less glue and better clips.

I've used Dorman Parts in the past to replace exterior trim however these are terrible ('18 CHEV Tahoe). After one week of use and only one hand washing these trim pieces show excessive amounts of light scratching throughout and appear to be in the worst condition than the original trim pieces on the opposite side which have 90,000 miles on them! I don't know what's changed, maybe these were just a bad batch but I absolutely would not recommend these. Even though it looks like small spots of scratching in the pictures, it was difficult to capture with the lighting, it's throughout the entire piece, and it occurred on all three trim pieces or appliques acquired for the passenger side.

Easy to install once I found out what a star tool was, that wasn't on the how to video. 😁 Well worth not paying ridiculous $$$ at the dealership. Fits 2015 Yukon perfectly.

Came off after 3 weeks

When I installed the appliqué I got the rubber seal stuck underneath so had to take it back off to fix it. I used a trim tool but both of the middle clips broke despite me being as gentle as possible. The green plastic that goes into the metal broke on one and the entire clip came off on the other one. If I hadn’t had to take it back off it would have been perfect. I’m not sure if this is designed to be put on permanently and never removed again. If that’s the case it’s my bad. Either way, the fit looks factory, but the plastic is brittle. Despite the structural shortcomings I would order this again and just make sure I got it perfect the first time.

Went to the dealership to see about the replacement and how much it would cost for installment. After being quoted over $300.00 for one install, I found the exact part here, ordered it and had my husband install it. It only took him about 20 minutes on the driver and passenger side. The trim is shiny and looks like it came off the showroom floor.
