Always worked in this technique, from mirrors, to furniture. I apply both the gold leaves and Silver leaves on to art pieces. Not easy, they can fly away during application. Make sure your a/c or a fan is not directed or close to the work, there is no return, except picking the pieces and Adapting them to something on to else. Can be Interesting, fun and many times frustrating, but I love it!! The quality of these leaves are excellent. Will be ordering more Silver soon, I still have some of the gold.

WE SPENT A LOT OF TIME BEING SURE OF PLACING THE SILVER LEAFS ON A GOLD MIRROR. IT TURNED OUT SO BEAUTIFULLY. WE TOOK OUR TIME AND WERE GENTLE IN PLACING THE LEAFS ON THE DECORATIVE PART OF THE MIRROR & WHEN FINISHED WE LET IT SIT FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN LIGHTLY SANDED IT ON SOME OF THE PLACES. IT WAS TOO SHINY AT FIRST, BUT NOW IT IS JUST GORGEOUS.

Wow. Barnabas Gold sent me the correct silver patent leaf within 24 hours with no charge and gave me two books of 25 to replace the stuff that came tat wasn’t right. That was the loose leaf instead. I’m very impressed with the good customer service. Thank you so much.

If you are trying to make silver pigment (with gold it would be called shell gold... would this be called shell silver?) for use in illumination or tezhip this is an excellent quality sheet for hand grinding your pigment. It breaks apart beautifully into fine granules in whatever mucilage you choose to use.

These silver sheets worked and looks fine, based on applicator's lack of talent to make the project look professional.

OK, so... the product itself is lovely. Packaging good, the patent is easy to work with, metal has a consistent thickness. All good there. This stuff was a nightmare to get on the vellum. I tried gilder's garlic, fish glue, Pink Stuff, Instacol (sp?), and Speedball Mona Lisa adhesive. It did NOT want to stick. Once the proper blood sacrifices and curse-laden incantations were made to the Gilding Fairies, I got it to stick with fish glue it was fine. Seal it or it will tarnish in a few months. It tends to be brittle, so be careful not to use it on something that will do a lot of bending. Should be great for framed artwork or picture frames.

Tricky to use unless your surface is flat. Takes a look of patience to work with the flimsy sheets.

Looked good but stuck hard to the separating - could not lift by any means, even static, so continuously tore apart when trying to apply, although not all of it would even come off the paper with pressure onto my project. I bought this cause I thought it was the best and it ended up being the worst!
