This knife is high carbon steel and holds an edge for a long time but does require a tiny bit of care. Wash by hand, dry well and occasionally rub a little of your favorite cooking oil all over it. Once dry, store it in the nice included leather sheath. Do this and your grandchildren will be using this same knife. It's really cool and a great bargain.

This knife is very heavy duty and sharp, it is perfect for chopping up meat once it has been cooked. I love the protective case that it comes with two keep it in good shape and great quality for a long time. It is a great night for the price!!

Had this for a while now and love it. Great weight and edge retention. I use it mainly to break down poultry and it goes through bone with no issues.

Bought this for Christmas gift last year. It has quickly become the go to tool for big jobs. Will be buying them as gifts for the at-home chefs in my life.

Look, I don't know what some of these people are complaining about honestly. It's sharp as hell, built sturdy and heavy. Some people said the sheath stinks, well it doesn't, it smells like leather, and fresh nicely worked leather. Be careful with the knife because it is razor sharp. Because of the weight and sharpness it cuts vegetables and meat with no problems. This knife is a beast, and I don't understand the bad reviews. It's great for me.

I plan to use this for all my camping, but I took it out for a spin in the kitchen with some prime rib steaks and daaaaayum is this knife sharp! The tang is great and the knife is outstanding at dicing vegetables, garlic, etc.

I would not purchase this knife, it is not fit for use intended, very very poor quality on all levels, blade was not straight or evenly curved for the length of the knife, arrived with a horrible oil which I had no idea what it was so it needed to be scrubbed before using, and in turn it is now rusty, burr on one side of the edge had to be removed before sharpening and once I finally got to use this knife it left black marks on the onion I tried it out on, basically I have put it back in its pouch amd will possibly Use it to chop twigs for firewood. About all it is good for.

- The actual knife received doesn't look antique like the image...it is just painted in black. - The quality of made of steel, treatment and finishing is very poor. - It is quickly made product and doesn't meet expectations. - Quality of leather case is good and looks very beautiful.

This is impressive, quality product and feels great in hand. Must have for any chef to Bush person. Looks great in our kitchen.
