I don't normally write reviews of things I buy on Amazon because I normally know I am going to like them or have used them in the past from a retail store. This time I had to take time to write a note. I purchased a hot tub, zero experience maintaining one but have been learning as I go. Over time, some rubber mulch particles and little pebbles or sand that don't make it through bio degrade or chemicals or spa filter settled in the bottom. I researched and decided to purchase a pool vac, didn't want one that required plugging in because of water or charging and decided to try this one thinking it would probably be a joke. When I got it I was like "what? yes, sure,,,,,hold your thumb over a small hole at the end of a broom like handle and it will pick up pennies and rocks etc. and that's it?". My first thought was I will give it a try and save the box because this one will surely be going back. WELL. let me tell you, I am in amazement. Best darn thing I ever bought in terms of a home maintenance tool for outside. Lightweight, works like magic, easy to use, and while it requires multiple times, it's so darn simple, just hold your thumb on hole, suck it up, let the water back out and dip again. The spa was spotless in under 10 minutes, the entire bottom of it and clean up is a breeze. To add to that, no assembly, no crazy instructions, also has visuals and I am super happy I bought this. Amazing product and no complicated stuff. Genius! Who knew, a siphon system that works like a charm.

Suprisingly simple and effective for removal of sand from my hot tub. Cordless and works without any power source. I didnt have high hopes for this item when it arrived yet, it works wonderful for my needs. I would buy this in the future. It is an inexpensive choice to get my hot tub free of silt and sand. I actually live this item. It is silent to use. Its adjustable in length of reach. And seems to be durably made.

Very simple to use and effective. Please note that the amount of suction is directly related the the depth of the water. It all works on water pressure. For the very bottom of my hot tub, I get full suction, and it works perfectly. For the lounger seat, only a foot or so below the waterline, it's limited. I try to hold it as much of an angle as possible to maximize suction, but just know that you may not get everything on the first attempt. I was a little alarmed when the box arrived opened, but everything was there and in good shape. The suction end of this thing is not the the most robust build, so can't speak to long term durability at this point. I've seen complaints that the flapper hinge can stick. Not for me, but I'll be keeping an eye on that. The flared suction end attachement comes of fairly easily. It once came off while using. Not a big deal in a small hot tub. I would not use this in a swiming pool. Kind of an ingenous design. Just wish it felt a little higher quality.

It works good at sucking up sand in the spa. You have to work fast because each suction doesn't last very long, but it doesn't require any power and it is easy to use.

This WORKED QUICKLY & AMAZINGLY WELL FOR MY SMALL INDOOR POOL, a 2400 gal current pool designed for physical therapy, with jets. I first bought this to deal with small particles at the bottom after installation & construction of the room around it. These particles were too fine to be removed by the filtration system, so I initially tried a filter & extension pole, but this was difficult to maneuver & I was unable to remove particles in the corners. Dealing with the 20 foot hose supplied by the manufacturer seemed much too cumbersome, so I ordered this spa vacuum -- and it worked so well!! Within a matter of minutes, I was able to remove the worst of the sand, pebbles, sawdust, etc. I now use it every few weeks for maintenance, to remove the occasional bits that collect in a corner -- and it's so easy to use! You simply put your finger over the hole at the top of the pole, place the spa vacuum in the water over the particles, and remove your finger to activate the suction. As you pull it out of the water, the water falls out, getting filtered on its way. Then simply repeat this process until the spa/pool is clean. Clean-up for the spa vacuum is easy; just twist the bottom off and rinse out. I think that anyone, including teens, older people, and many other disabled individuals, would be able to use this. I have badly injured shoulders, so that I can lift only 5 pounds, but if I insert this slowly and carefully, it's a manageable effort, and it's great that I can tidy up the pool myself.

I would give this device six stars if I could. I nearly did not purchase this because I just could not believe that the vacuum power of just the water pressure would be enough to pick up the grains of sand that get tracked into my spa. But in the hopes that it would work OK, and because it would be so nice to have something that didn’t require recharging or hand pumping, and honestly, because I knew that I could return it if it didn’t work, I ordered it. The “vacuum” arrived today. It was fully assembled and ready to use. So I took it straight from the box and to my hot tub. I had half a dozen areas on the bottom of the spa into which black sand collects. Each was about six to ten square inches. The Spa Vacuum cleaned each area with one cycle. It was so effortless and so quick that I was almost disappointed, strange as that may seem! There were a few other “tidbits” that now became noticeable since that ugly black sand was gone, and the Vacuum made short work of them, too. Now finished, I disassembled the collection mechanism and cleaned out the sand and debris. Simple, simple, simple. I highly recommend this for your spa vacuum. It is not a full sized pool cleaner/vacuum. But for a hot tub...go for it!

Apto para piscinas hinchables de hasta 3x2 metros. Su mecanismo es muy sencillo aunque requiere practica para cogerle el truco. Cuanta mas agua en la piscina mayor potencia de succion. Está pensado para absorber tierra, pelusas, trozitos pequeños de basura o mugre que acaba siempre en los fondos aunque se le resisten cosas mas grandes. Lo mejor es la sencillez del producto. Lo peor es la de veces que es necesario limpiar el filtro si tu piscina suele acumular suciedad con facilidad o sueles dedicarle 1h todos los dias a la limpieza. Esto te llevará a tener que limpiar el filtro en varias ocasiones, pues se acumula la suciedad rapidamente y deja de absorber completamente. Deberia venir con mas filtros de recambio por el precio.

This thing works great! I had previously bought one very similar (and about $12 cheaper), but it did not work at all and was missing advertised pieces. So I returned it and bought this one and I’m so happy I did. It is so easy to use and is slim enough that it fits easily in a closet. No more trying to scoop out little bits of sand from our spa! It filters the debris from the water and when you lift it out of the water, the filtered water goes back in the hot tub. Video attached to show. We love it and it’s fun to use.
