White Lily Bread Flour, 5 Pound

Like the previous reviewer, I am only reviewing the flour itself, not the insane price swings this product experiences. It is absolutely, hands down, the best bread flour I've ever used. It's fine and silky like all-purpose and self-rising White Lily flour, but contains enough gluten to make your yeast baked goods high and fluffy, with that wonderful "pull" the most irresistible breads and pastries have. It hasn't been available locally in my area (get on the stick Publix!) so I've depended on Amazon to supply it. Until the last week or two, it's been under $3.00 for 5 pounds. I cancelled my subscribe and save and refuse to buy it at today's price of over $10. Hopefully, my waistline will benefit.

I make a batch of hot rolls every few days . Really good soft rolls .It cost more then other places but I needed it & its good . 4 cups of flour makes 18 hot rolls with yeast & other items in the recipe .

This is the best bread flour you will ever use.

This is not the super low gluten flour that White Lily makes famous for their biscuits. This is different high gluten wheat for loaves of bread. Naively, I thought the original flour could be used for making bread in my new breadmaker. The loaves I made with this flour were wonderful so I fully recommend it.

This flour is my favorite for making bread, especially sourdough. The flour is soft and light and has a good protein content for bread making. I’ve ordered this flour often and a couple bags have come with flour leaking out a seam on the top or bottom. Luckily the bags come wrapped in plastic wrap so I just transfer the flour to my glass flour holder, and if that is full, I’ll place the flour bag (unopened) in a large plastic baggie to collect any flour that might be leaking.

This flour is fantastic and my bread has turned out great every time! I had almost given up on my bread maker. Couldn't figure out why my bread was coming out so dense. Now I know: flour matters! I had previously used some older other brand. Phew, my bread maker almost made it to the curb (which made me sad b/c I totally cannot make bread from scratch), but now my breads super light and airy. Yum!

I use this flour when I'm making sweet yeast breads and other breads that need a soft, fine texture. I'm in New England, and White Lily isn't sold here, so I'm happy to get it from Amazon. It works perfectly in my bread machine. I make the dough in the machine, then oven bake. Even though it's twice the price of bread flour I can buy locally, I feel it's worth the price. I do use the locally available King Arthur bread flour for heartier, rustic type yeast breads.

It’s just what I wanted & I love baking bread.
