Fascinating, leaves you wanting to see more .
A truly fascinating glimpse into the decaying past. I so wanted to see more and the fact that locations from my home town were in there was an added surprise. I would love to see more of his work. Photos are so intense it's like you are right there.

Vivid and moving photographs
Photographs of U.S. urban decay were disturbing, moving, and awakening. The photographs speak for themselves and remind us baby boomers of life before manufacturing went off-shore.

History written in decay
Interesting concept that portrays a historical perspective of the things "left behind". In many ways it shows the neglect, the slow decay of what was and is now "discarded" by mans need to reinvent himself. It shows our arrogance as we waste the created spaces and leave them to "history". It is as if we as a race has learnt nothing from our "histories".

more info...
Beautiful book with beautiful pictures. Would have been more interesting if there was more information on the pictures. For example how and why they had been left to become that way etc...

I love this book.
I have no poetic or floral phrases to express what Dan Marbaix & Dan Barter has captured with their cameras. I can only hope they continue to do what they do for a very long time

Breathtaking pictures. I appreciate it so much as an amateur photographer. Thank you for making this book.

Fascinating
The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I would really like some more background info on the photos in the book. It is a great conversation piece, though!

The amazing photography creates page upon page of hidden stories. It really invokes the imagination. This book is simply beautiful; they say a picture is worth a thousand words, States of Decay is worth a thousand stories! The quality photography fully outweighs the price! Great present and most definitely a collectors item! Congratulations to Dan Marbaix & Daniel Barter and thank you!
