When my daughter was a toddler, she got her hand stuck in a can that was disposed of in the garbage. It was the scariest thing. Since then each time I open a can, I would crush the can down so that it is flat. Well, I searched for an inexpensive can opener on Amazon and found this one. It opens the can from the inside, so the top comes off completely and no sharp edges on the can or top to cut fingers. It's wonderful! It is manual, but it works for me, as I don't frequently open canned foods.

I have a fairly old Culinare Safety Can opener that is vey similar to this Magic Can opener. The old one worked great for many years, but then its plastic handle cracked and finally broke, rendering it unusable - well, without using pliers to turn the stem. So, I got this new Magic Can opener to replace that old Safety Can opener, thinking that it would be equivalent. Although the new Magic Can opener works, I ran into several problems right off: One thing is that the Magic Can opener cuts a bit further down the side of the can compared to Safety Can opener, and thus REMOVES the crimp lip at the top of the can from the body of the can. This weakens the sides of the can - and resulted in a big mess when a lot of the fluid contents of the can squeezed out as the can sides squeezed in (under just normal holding pressure). I also noticed that the opener didn't cut the last millimeter, leaving the lid "dangling" from the can by that last thread of metal - which caused the can to tip, spilling even more contents. But the biggest concern I have is that the new Magic Can opener leaves a raw/sharp edge around the top of the can sides. (The old Safety Can opener cut the crimp, leaving the can's crimp lip attached to the body of the can (keeping the sides rigid), with no sharp edge on either the removed lid nor on the top of the body of the can). So, I'm rather disappointed in this new Magic Can opener. (Hmmm... I wonder... Maybe the handle from the new Magic Can could be popped off and used as a replacement handle for the old Safety Can opener... )

Did not last opened 2 cans before it stopped working. Now it just slips when trying to open a can.

Really cheap quality - like everything these days. I purchased on of these 15 years ago and it was solid and felt like a good weight in your hand. Opened cans perfectly for 15 years. The first can i opened with this it left jagged edges and i know this will not last 15 years. I won't buy this again when I breaks cause i know it will. Very cheaply made.

Great product for easy can opening

It's very light duty and works okay (not great) on smaller thinner cans but is definitely a struggle with the larger ones and would start slipping before reaching the end. It wouldn't be so bad except it's the edge of the can that is sharp rather than the lid so trying to remove an incomplete cut can is a safety nightmare. At least with a sharp lid you can use tongs or pliers to bend the lid back. Nearly impossible to handle an incomplete cut with these. It's cheaply constructed and lightweight so after a few uses the handles barely handle the stress of puncturing the can. Unfortunately no one makes a decent can opener anymore. My electric failed after a month. My handheld openers strip gears after very few uses. The metal used is garbage and doesn't hold up even without the plastic counterparts. It does work just not very well or for very long.

Stopped working half way through opening its first can. Just clicked, and something happened so I had to throw the can away. I returned it

Apprezzabile il design purtroppo però l'apriscatole risulta poco pratico da usare e la precisione di taglio inadeguata. L'apriscatole non si aggancia alla parte superiore del coperchio rendendo ardua l'apertura.

Ne marche que sur certaines boîtes, j'ai essayé sur des boîtes de nourritures pour chien, complètement inefficace, la roulette fait du surplace.
