I would say it is close to 100lb holding power. Definitely have to twist metal to get it off. Works great to hold a blade and grind it flat on a grinder.

The handles are a little uncomfortable but other than that very strong magnets

I could not lift my 60 pound electric smoker with these magnets. They just slid around when I tried lifting.

I just received the 150lb magnet from UPS, and I was excited to try it out. When the magnet strength is tested as described here (place it on a heavy metal object. lift.) it performs wonderfully. However, when I try to pick up a pair of scissors with it, It needs to be about half an inch away. I suppose this would be a nice surprise if I wanted to be sure it wouldn't mess up my cell phone from a foot away, but I want to feel/see it pull at something from farther than half an inch, since it is such a "strong magnet."

I don't think it is 150 pounds strong, but the magnet is very strong (and yet reasonably easy to remove simply by tilt-prying the magnet away from the surface.) It is a good magnet for the experimental/science purposes (with my kids) for which I wanted a strong magnet.

I love these magnets they are so handy for a fabricator such as myself. I have and continue to use them for countless situations in fabrication processes and would have a difficult time surviving without them. Their strength makes them a useful tool for holding, blocking, and measuring.

It was much stronger than I expecited. Worked perfectly for what I planned to use it for.

A very low price for a strong magnet that has helped me find nails in the grass that would eventually create a problem.
