Remarkably speaking, it was way better than another brand. Flavor is good, gravy plentiful, and a nice variety of veggies. Half of the package was plenty for me, but not for my Mr. It wasn’t in need of any additional seasoning, nor do I believe it was too much. If you want it less salty my suggestion would be that once it’s cooked or rehydrated, take out some of the gravy with your spoon, then add more water. I think this might be a nice addition to the pantry. Definitely an easy to make, quality product. Surprisingly delicious is what the Mr. says. I only wish the photos specified the nutritional information, I like to read them.

This is hands down the best shelf stable/freeze dried beef stew you will ever try! It's enough for a small meal on its own, or could be paired with something else to really fill you up. It's definitely hearty and delicious, especially when you are camping. Having Mountain House meals like this while camping/hunting/hiking is amazing. There's nothing like being able to boil some water, add it to a pouch, then having what tastes like a nice home cooked meal while you are out in the wilderness. Especially in the winter! They are expensive though, so look for the sales. But the fact that it's good for 30+ years makes it worth it. I love this stuff!

This beef stew was better than expected. Good flavor, a bit small for portion size, a fair amount of salt. But, for what it is supposed to be, I was truly surprised. I would recommend this.

Has good beef flavor out of the package though I usually add a pound or so of browned ground beef to mine. I also find it a little bland but adding personal flavor accents should be routine for anyone that likes things a little spicier. Quick and easy to make, I keep several on the shelf for times I'm not feeling well or I just feel like beef stew. Like most dehydrated foods the flavor tends to be more robust a day or two after preparing.

First MRE I ever ate. Bought for hurricane kit. The taste is ok but texture of some of the ingredients is bland. Ordered several flavors and they were all about the same. If you have no power or are camping, you will be glad to have them. Preparation is easy but don't expect them to taste like a home cooked meal. They are filling, light weight, and easy storage and have a long shelf life.

Actually this was pretty good.
