A practical, space-saving safety solution that ticks many boxes — with a few caveats
I purchased the Ready Covers Radiator Cover Heating Cabinet for our home, specifically because we have a 1-year-old child and an exposed radiator that worried me. After several weeks of use, here are my thoughts — the good, the so-so, and what to be aware of. 👍 What works well 1. Child-safety & peace of mind. The cover creates a visible barrier between the hot radiator and our little one. Because it’s vented and designed for steam radiators (not portable electric heaters), I feel more comfortable letting the baby play in that room without constant worry. On the maker’s website they highlight this as a key benefit: “Keep your home safe for children by covering your hot radiator.” 2. Minimal footprint + design aesthetic. The snap-together tile system means the result is quite low profile, doesn’t stick out terribly from the wall, and gives a much cleaner look than an exposed radiator. For a baby’s room this is great — you retain floor space, reduce risk of bumps or burns, and the white/charcoal finish options blend in nicely. 3. Removable / summer-friendly. Because it’s a modular tile system (each tile measures ~7" × 7″ according to product specs) you can disassemble when you don’t need it (e.g., in summer when the radiator is off). One of my favourite things: when the radiator is inactive we just removed the front section and the room doesn’t feel boxed in. According to the specs: “Each Tile Measures 7×7 Inches … Connect Straight or at a Right Angle.” 4. Ease of assembly. There were no tools required. The manufacturer claims “No tools required!” on their site. I found it fairly quick to assemble (once I measured properly). 5. Heat resistance & venting. From the specs: “Vented tile design allows heat to pass through easily while staying cool to the touch. Tiles will keep their shape and not discolor.” In my usage I did not notice warping or discoloration after a few weeks of radiator use. 👎 What to watch / potential limitations 1. Coverage / size planning is important. Because this is modular, you must measure front, sides, and top of your radiator (or whatever you are covering) to determine how many tiles you need. If you underestimate, the cover may look incomplete or leave gaps where curious fingers could still reach. The website emphasises this. 2. Heat output / efficiency. As some users online point out (not necessarily for this exact product but for radiator covers generally), covering a radiator may reduce radiant heat somewhat or slightly alter how the heat disperses. For example, one Reddit user wrote: > “Safe? Yes. Efficient? Probably not. … you could be blocking airflow, which would reduce the efficiency.” In our case I did notice that the room took maybe 5-10 minutes longer to feel warm when we turned on the radiator, but the difference was not dramatic and acceptable given the safety benefit. 3. Aesthetic versus premium build. While the finish is clean and functional, it is plastic tiles rather than hardwood or metal built-into a custom cabinet. If you are expecting a premium furniture-grade cover, this may feel more utilitarian. However, for a baby-proofing / modern fix, it suits well. 4. Not for all radiator types / purposes. The manufacturer notes “This Product Is To Be Used As a Steam Heat Cover NOT FOR PORTABLE ELECTRIC HEATERS.” So ensure your radiator type is compatible. Also, if you have very large radiators or irregular shapes, you may need a lot of tiles or a different solution. 5. Durability & long-term unknown. My usage is only a few weeks, so I cannot speak to multi-year wear, discolouration, or tile stability — though early signs are good. 🔍 My personal verdict Given that I ordered this largely with a toddler’s safety in mind, and the fact that the cover does indeed take up little extra space, has a clean design, and is removable in summer — I’d say this product meets my expectations and rates a strong recommendation for families in similar situations. If your priorities are safety + design + flexibility (especially for a baby’s room) this is a very good solution. That said, if you have very high heating demands, large or unusual radiator configurations, or are looking for a premium furniture-grade finish, you might still explore alternatives or ensure you account for possible slight heat loss/efficiency change.

Do I love it? No.Do I hate it? No.
What can I say? It covers our old chipping, dusty iron radiator. Does it look better than it did? Uh... yes. Here’s the rub... it’s a big white plastic box. That’s it. Our radiator is in the bathroom. A small bathroom. And it’s in your face (almost like an unintended centerpiece). *sigh* Buuut I am crafty so I will figure out a way to make it blend in. Was it worth $65? No! $50? Eh, possibly. More like $35-$40. Quality is great. Plastic “dowels” that are used to hold the sections together are a PITA. The whole thing 40”x14”x7” took about 2 hours to assemble. Flimsy until you get the sides on. Hint: put one whole side on if you can to give the it stability. 4 stars because it’s not as bad as 3 but nowhere near 5. There you have it!

Easy installation
Easy instalation, you might need to zip tie it to the radiator so it can hold still, but so far so good 👍.

Nice but...
It looks nice, especially from far away. However, it is not as sturdy as I thought and I even worry it might get overheated even if you leave a few inches from the radiator. You have to find a way to attach it to the wall so that it doesn't fall. Was it worth the $85+? ABSOLUTELY NOT. This is something that should be in the $40-$60 ballpark. It's overpriced in my opinion.

Pretty and functional
I haven't decided whether to do one real or two, I am a little disappointed that the side is too big for my radiator. I only purchased bc the bottom of my rental has a big hole in-between the radiator and the existing cover , I have ferrets and I didn't want them to go under and maybe get lost or something . I do like these covers though , one case should fit all the radiators in my apartment at the bottom. I think if I were doing two rows I definitely would need more and they were low key expensive 😂 another thing to keep in mind is I bought velcro straps to keep it in peace due to my ferrets and bc the side was too big , you might need some to make sure it's secure on your wall or something. I think with the velcro my ferrets wouldn't be able vto know it down .

Waste of money and time.
Terrible. Misleading images on product page and build instructions. The top DOES NOT securely affix to the sides. It can only attach to either the front or back. I waited weeks for all the parts to come. Had to order more because the specs are slightly smaller for each piece than indicated in the dimensions. It seems easy enough until you are layering panels and as you hammer the product cones apart at other places. The last side never fastened to the other three. I had to drive nailed through a number of places to secure and prevent from falling over. Don’t waste your money or time!

Safe and effective
OK…. This is a great idea for cast iron radiators, especially with a 2 year old. We didn’t cover the top because our radiator is tall. We needed the larger amount of plastic tiles. We put a dowel zip tied at the top to make it more stable.

I think it’s worth it .
My honest review …. PROS - super easy to put together, I bought 48 pack and was able to cover 2 radiators . Great color , seems like a very sturdy plastic CONS - Didn’t go all the wall to the wall so it left a ga. You’ll see the gap in my picture.
