Description

S.W.A.T. crams onto a single DVD two commentary tracks, deleted scenes, featurettes, and excellent technical specs, including an exciting sound mix. The first commentary track is a combination of informative but subdued remarks by director Clark Johnson spliced with a track by Samuel L. Jackson and five other actors (but not Colin Farrell) together. The comments by the actors are infrequent, raucous, and forgettable. There's also a commentary track by four of the writers, who discuss how they were writing S.W.A.T. when the North Hollywood shootout (on which the opening scene is based) took place, and what writers think about actors who improvise. The making-of featurette gives plenty of exposure and credit to the real-life S.W.A.T. officers who helped with the film, and a featurette on the original TV series is interesting, even though it's basically an advertisement for the DVD set . --David Horiuchi Two wisecracking, battle-hardened veterans (Samuel L. Review: Best movie - Best movie Review: Dumb fun Action Shlock! - I unapologetically love this movie. it is pure dumb action shlock! this is the kind of movie you put on with you and your buddies if you want to get hyped up for an Airsoft game. Everyone in this movie is a joy to watch Except Collin. Samuel L Jackson, Michelle Rodriguez and LL Cool Jay, and the rest of the cast is great! Except for the lead. but oh well!
