Absolutely Recommend
2025 Update: Bought this back in 2016 and it still works flawless. No LEDs have burned out and no issues with it whatsoever. 10/10 wpuld recommend. Excellent product. This particular version came with an aluminum backing which keeps it rigid and prevents any bending (dont have to worry about bending and breaking a light accidentally). Install was easy. The package came with everything you need for the double sided tape application (which is extremely sticky). If you want to hardwire your bar to your vehicle, those additional quicksplice items are not included. The kit is simply for plug-and-go. My 2011 ford f150 ecoboost has an annoying little curve on near the passenger side where this would be applied, so I went ahead and drilled two holes to make sure this thing wouldnt go anywhere from a small area where the tape wouldnt touch the truck. It has been on for a few weeks and I absolutely love it. The LED is very bright. The reverse light is also very bright, which is nice when backing up at night. I have received many compliments. When I installed mine, I went to O'Reiley's and got the female end 4 prong plug with extended wires. I simply hard wired this plug into my trailer hitch behind the bumper and zip tied everything up and out of the way. I think it looks much better than plugging into the trailer plug in view. It also gives me the ability to replace this bar whenever it does lose a few LEDs or if I get rear-ended in the future. Hopefully no rear-ends. They definitely won't be able to say "I didnt see you stop!" I also hardwired into the reverse light. Highly recommend. Bottom line, I love this thing. Only con is the directions dont tell you how to wire for different models and years. The newer vehicles tend to be installed with factory standard wire colors, so its fairly easy to figure out how to hardwire if you choose. Some trucks don't match this standard (my 2011 ford matched the colors). If you have any questions about hardwiring, you can simply pull up a few youtube videos. I watched a few before installing mine.

Great product.
Fit my 2014 GMC perfectly. Very easy to install. Very bright and the back up light is great for backing the boat in the dark. If you’re on the fence on which one to buy. This one will not disappoint. Get the Y flat splitter to use the back up light with a trailer.

Not built to last
Easy to install and worked great from October 2024 to May 2025. Right side portion of the light bar went out at that time, so it only lasted +/- 8 months. Both the red turn signal light and the white back up lights went dead. All connections are still in tact and the left side still works fine, the light bar runs off the same wiring harness so I know it’s nothing I did while installing, plus it worked great for 8 months UPDATE: The manufacturer reached out to me regarding this review and requested videos so they could diagnose the issue. When I sent them the videos, showing it was the light bar and not the harness, they informed me they are sending a replacement light bar. Hopefully this one lasts longer than 8 months. Kudos to them for making it right!

Great Light-bar. Had an issue. OPT7 instantly corrected the situation!
After one full year of use without issue (Dec 24-Dec 25) early January 26 I noticed the entire lightbar would flash when turn signals were used. If left turn signal was on, the left side of the light bar would flash brightly but the right side would flash a lighter red like the running light brightness. Same scenario for the right signal. Wires are in good shape and connections with the OPT7 Easy Connect are clean and solid. I reached out to OPT7 inquiring about the situations knowing the warranty exchange would require me to ship back the product but was surprised to learn that there is an exclusive OPT7 PRIME warranty so OPT7 said they would be sending a replacement light bar without having to ship the original back. Sweet! I simply provided video to prove the issue of lights flashing incorrectly, worked with the Escalation Manager, Ben, to wrap up shipping address and needed information and I am very please with the customer care provided. The lightbar is great, minus the pain to install it thanks to RAM changing their 5th Gen design but even though it's a single-light row bar, I really like how bright it is and the OPT7 easy connect eliminates the other issues I've seen mentioned in reviews with newer vehicles. Thanks OPT7!

Great product! Highly recommended but read below for considerations...
Overall great product. I love look of it on our 2015 Silverado 2500. Installation with the included double sided tape was simple and seems to be holding up well so far even in the MN winter. They also include metal clips that you can drill into the body of the truck but I opted to skip those because I am not a fan of putting any more holes than necessary in the truck. Three things to be aware of before ordering. None are a deal breaker for me because of the price and quality of the bar but just so you know. 1) On my Silverado the 60" bar is about 1.5" too long to fit between the level part of the body and as a result the last 3/4" on each side is higher on the overlapping metal below the tailgate. This caused the first 3-4" of tape on each side to not be in contact with the body of the truck. So far this has caused no issues but something to consider if you want to buy a double sided tape to double up on the sides so it is a more secure installation. 2) The wires coming out of the included 4 pin trailer plug are tiny (22 gauge or less). I opted for a hard wired installation into the spare wiring harness for the 5th wheel trailer (which I don't have) and trying to connect the small wires with the 14-10 gauge wires on the truck was a pain. With a little patience and a soldiering iron all worked well. If you are going to opt for this approach make sure you have a soldering iron, wire stripper that handles small gauge wire, shrink tubing and lots of electrical tape. The 4 wire plug will work for all but the back up lights but with the new 2500HD you cant use your 7-pin trailer connector with a 4 pin plugged in and I didn't like the idea of disconnecting every time I hauled the trailer. 3) If you chose to use the backup lights of the bar (which I highly recommend because they look awesome and provide extra light when backing up at night) you need to either hard wire as I explain in 2 above, or tap into your backup light in your tail light. It is easy to do but make sure you pick up some wire splicers that work with small gauge wire (18-22 gauge). Overall happy with the purchase and highly recommend.

TERRIBLE LIGHT BAR - UNREALISTIC HARDWARE
UPDATE 12-2-15: 2 Led's OUT after just a short time of use. Will update once I hear back from RedLine and what is expected of me to receive a return. I would give this light bar 5 stars if it was based on the actual light bar itself. The problem as others have experienced, is the mounting hardware is ridiculous. (The tape alone is not a good idea IMO) The tiny screws they give you are coarse thread which is only suited for mounting into wood. It would take too long to explain in detail how I did it but in short..... I took a pan head screw, took and angle grinder, grinded the pan head down until it "just" would fit into the small bracket. The reason for this is that the clip/bracket is shaped in a way that you cannot use a washer or a screw with a head that sticks up to far. Secondly, I made sure that the light bar was mock fitted so that it would line up with my tailgate and bumper. For what its worth, you'd be surprised how many bumpers are not aligned with the tailgate. It may not seem like it matters but when you only have a 2" to 3" opening to view this light bar, getting off a 1/4", is noticeable and tacky. For the wiring, I chose to use a female pig-tail and wire that into the wiring at the back of my truck and then once I was done, plug the male end that comes on this light bar into that. This way, if I ever want to remove it, I can. The wiring is not a job for a person that doesn't know what they are doing and doesn't have a tester and common knowledge of how to slice/crimp wires etc. (unless your gonna plug into your 4 pin plug but that's cheesy among other reasons in my opinion) The 2 sided tape that came with this light bar was also unimpressive to me. Its only a little over a 1/4" wide. I went to walmart and bought 1" wide two sided super strength tape and that was MUCH stronger. After all, your putting this on a truck, not a tri-cycle. My light bar came packaged very well. The light bar itself is very bright and I absolutely LOVE the light bar... It also has a cool red/white/blue effect when your backup lights come on (if you wired it) ((((( I LOVED IT BEFORE I HAD 2 LED'S GO OUT )))))) Lastly, If you have a Dodge truck that is from 02 to 05, expect to cover the access hole for your spare tire as you see in the photos. REDLINE ---- If you are reading this.... Please make the quality of your light bars match the quality of your hardware..

Has lasted 2+ years & 3+ harsh NE winters - amazing quality - still works perfect!
**** 2+ YEAR LATER UPDATE 12/15/2018 **** I originally bought this OPT7 led tail gate bar in October of 2016 for my 2006 Ram 1500. I sold that truck in December of 2016 and bought a 2012 Ram R/T and I was able to peel off the OPT7 LED bar's 3m tape and reapply the led bar and original 3m tape to my new truck. This LED bar has survived 3 harsh Philadelphia winters, crazy rain, snow, sleet, ice, 5° weather, etc. All the LEDs work perfectly, everything works normal. This thing has blown past my expectations and then some. I seriously can't reccomend this led bar more. Its unreal how its lasted on 2 different trucks, for 3 winters now. The last 4 pictures are how it looks now after being moved to another truck and after going thru 3 N.E. winters. **** MY ORIGINAL REVIEW **** This OPT7 LED Light Bar for your Tail Gate is amazing quality. The led bar came in a nice HUGE box (poorly taped as if someone opened it and then re-taped it very poorly) but the led bar was inside the box, then inside a hard cardboard tube, then inside a clear plastic tube. This thing was packaged so well I think it would survive a bomb or blast, it was crazy how many protective layers the shipping box had. Now onto the product. I installed this on my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 5.7L Hemi. It was super easy to install. Just like they said it is plug and play into your trucks 4 pin trailer harness. I just wiped down the spot under my tailgate i was instalking the led bar with rubbing alcohol and then pushed it on with the 3m tape. I didn't bother to hardwire the reverse lights as I don't want to hardwire anything into my new truck, but the other LED lights all worked and lit up as they should have. The 3m tape has held up so far (4 days) and if it decides to fall off I will update this review. I included 3 pictures. First one is during the day, the lights are super bright even in direct sunlight. The second picture is the led bar at night lit up under regular running position. The third picture is the led bar at night with the brakes applied. Would definitely buy an OPT7 product again on the way the package was so well protected during shipping alone. A+++ Shipping/Packaging A+ Quality A+ Product B+ Difficulty Installing (hardwire reverse lights) A+++ OPT7 would order from again!!!
