Fluxe 3.5 Inch Stainless Steel Deep Waste Basket Kitchen Sink Drain Strainer Assembly with Sealing Lid, in Brushed Nickel Finish

Beautiful high end sink basket strainer it looks very good in my stainless steel sink and the color matches very well. This strainer came with a black flat very thin gasket that is used in place of plumbers putty, I have installed multiple stainless steel sinks and I have always used plumbers putty, I am very skeptical of using anything else however I decided to use the black gasket that came with this strainer instead of plumbers putty just to see if it would work, and how well it would hold up, after everything was installed and tested I couldn't find any leaks or signs of leaks. I am also use to all metal strainers so I had my doubts about the threads on this basket strainer being plastic but with that being said the threads are very rigid and strong so no stripping issues, and no tools needed to install.

I have an old cast iron farm house sink so I purchased this drain and one other to see which would fit. The other one was deeper so it worked out better for my sink but this one was of the same high quality that the other one was...it just wasn't the right fit for my sink. I think it would work perfectly for a more modern stainless steel sink. There just aren't enough threads to secure it to my sink. So, there's nothing wrong with the product at all just shallower than my other choice. It was also more expensive than the other product of the same quality.

The threads are plastic so I would stay away from this one. I installed this pushed everything down and then began to tighten it up and barely turned it in to get popping loose I submitted a return for it and haven't heard from anybody yet nor did I get my money back so I would steer clear

Looks nice. No problems so far except with installation. This item does not come with a lock nut. Since I was putting in all new plumbing I didn't have that part from an old sink and had to make a special trip to the hardware store to finish my installation. Not as happy with plastic threads and the way this tightens down. It doesn't seat as well as the disposal flange. Still, I like the deep basket, it works, and it looks good. Update: After a few months of use I find that this product does not work well for a double sink. The stopper comes up if I run water in the other side of my sink or run the garbage disposal. I don't want to re-do my pluming so now I have to find a stopper that will stay down or hold this stopper down with one hand while trying to rinse dishes with the other.

I have had this for a year now and LOVE it! We upgraded the sink and I saw one for $50.00 at the shop, then I went looking and found this one. I have lots of teenagers using the sink and the little basket that catches everything is just perfect. Closes up tight when I need to fill the sink, really easy to put in and I wish I would have gotten one years ago.

This is a well made, good-looking sink strainer. BUT, unfortunately, it won't fit in my fireclay farmhouse sink. The sink material is too thick; you can't screw on the plastic part that secures it in place. There are not enough threads to hold it.

This has already paid for itself! My ring slipped off & the trap caught it. This really helps when the garbage disposal side is being used for washing dishes. there's enough room in the basket for the lil scraps then is part of the oops of washing dishes. Has a very good seal as well, best test is thawing something frozen, it was a joy not refilling the sink 4-5 times.

Great product. Since we decided not to use a garbage disposal anymore this product is awesome. It seems be be well made and the little strainer basket is deep enough to not have to empty it all the time. We don't miss the disposal.
