What?? Yes, you read the title correctly: I use this vinyl to cover my cutting plates in my die cutting machines. This is a heavy duty vinyl - a great product and perfect for using in all of my die cutting machines!The vinyl extends the life of my cutting plates AND, likely extends the life of my cutting dies as well. I cut the vinyl to fit the size of my cutting plate, then layer that on top of the cutting plate, then my cardstock, cutting die and finally, the top plate. I don't need to make any adjustments for DIE CUTTING on any of my machines - Gemini Jr., Sizzix Big Shot, Anna Griffin Empress and Spellbinders Platinum 6 (I simply remove the sheet of vinyl when I use my embossing folders).So, depending on which machine I use and the amount of die cutting I do (consistently mid-high volume), my cutting plates will last at least a year, or just over that. The vinyl needs to be replaced much more frequently and that depends on the weight of the cardstock and how often I move the position of the dies but, I'd say on average probably every 3 months because I don't always use the same machine all the time - I switch my machines constantly to help extend the life of my machines.

The hinge in the middle my hot tub cover had degraded and started leaking steam. This is a problem because these things are over $500 to replace and most of it looked like it had a couple years of life. I cut a strip of this 8" wide and used H66 glue to stick to the 4 year old vinyl material so there was a good 4 inch of coverage on each side of the crack. I cleaned the existing cover with alcohol and dried before applying. I had to hurry because it was 40 degrees and a storm was blowing in. Well 3 weeks later it is still working well. The material was thinner than they made it look in the picture which is why I took one start away.

This product was perfect for my purposes. I painted an image on one side. It is thick and very transparent; it is a kind of soft plastic, and almost sticks to itself when folded, but that is not really a problem unless you are folding it for some reason.

Very table for 8, with with angled corners, needs to eventually be refinished, but needs protection to continue usingWaxed with Howard's then cut to size:Aligned long edge, using several pieces masking tape to align other long edge. and short edges checking with large straight 3 foot straight edge.Next used longer pieces of masking tape until all sides correct all sidesMasking taped by sight 4 small corners. After final check, pulled out several inches cutting long side, then short sides checking. Last step, checking and cutting 4 corners.It looks like something l bought it's so perfect!

Great quality! It doesn’t scratch too easily, unless something a little sharp rubs over it, but otherwise, it’s held up great! Still going strong after quite a few months now! Would recommend cleaning with glass cleaner and newspaper or a rag. Regular surface cleaner and paper towels will leave streaks — and depending on the quality of your paper towels, they will sometimes leave lint. You’ll have to clean it if it gets wet as depending how hard your water is, the water droplets will leave marks once dry (still easy to clean off even after they dry though)

It Was not quite what I expected, I wanted something that was stiffer, but it worked.
