It made the "cut"
I've been hunting for a new paring knife to replace mine that is approximately 30 years old. My old knife was a gift from a local small-town bank back when banks gave gifts for various things like having a balance over a certain an amount. I opened my first bank account with them because I needed a knife, and they were expensive for people like me working at minimum wage. That bank knife qualifies as a relic, but it's still usable and has a longer blade than new paring knives. Still, I can afford a nicer paring knife at this stage in life, and I grow tired of sharpening the old knife every time I use it. I tried the Mac Knife Paring Knife (despite the obvious "Mac-the-Knife" song analogy.) (After all, the song netted Bobby Darin two grammies (1959) and, in 1961, Ella Fitzgerald won a grammy for her rendition of the song.) But.I digress. The short story is that Mac is a fine knife. I like that it has a nice balance in my hand, the handle also has a nice feel without being slippery when wet. But most of all, I love that it is notably sharp, and it cuts at a nice speed--not too fast, but not too slow. I can precisely core a strawberry, and I like that. It cuts a lot of other foods equally well. If you are searching for a good paring knife, try this one. I recommend it. And the name makes me smile every time I use it.

Sharp and easy to use!!
I am obsessed with this knife. It is very sharp, so you do have to be careful!! But it requires such little effort to cut things with it!

Excellent paring knife!
The design of this knife hits the sweet spot. The blade is thin enough to make it a great slicer and the design is perfect for the small tasks that paring knives are supposed to be designed for. It feels great in the hand with scalpel-like agility. One caveat that should be mentioned is that although the blade steel contains 13.5% chromium, rust spots will appear if not dried after use. The chromium content is high enough to make this a stainless steel, but I'm guessing that some of the chromium is tied up in carbides, but this makes the knife stay sharper longer. Drying the knife after using is not a problem for us. I would buy this knife again.

Great knife
Bought this for my son in law. Tried it at his house so my husband bought me one. Fits well in hand and easy to use. I wont us3 any other knife in kitchen anymore.

Not sharp
This knife was touted to be extremely sharp? It would not cut through pork tenderloin strips. Not worth the money.

Great knife! Reliable and maintains a good edge!
This knife is incredibly easy to handle and came relatively sharp out of the box. I always do some additional honing, plus maintenance honing about every 2 weeks. This knife is not as pretty as the Shun it replaced, but it's much better quality! (I say this because it didn't immediately start to rust after the first use like the Shun did) I've been using it for a few months now with no signs of wear. This knife has a very subtle design that doesn't jump out as much as the Shun did immediately, but it's grown on me since owning the knife. I get bummed out when I'm working on something in the kitchen that requires a different knife! This will definitely not be the last Mac knife I purchase; I can't recommend it enough.

A very nice knife!
This thing is crazy sharp and it performs exceedingly well. It came in perfect condition. In terms of price vs performance, it destroys all my other knives. I can highly recommend it.

Easily rusts
I did like this knife. Kept sharp, had a good weight and feel. Unfortunately, it rusted after a few months of use. Something which has never happened before with any knife i've ever owned. Very disappointing, especially considering the price.
