Best mouse I've owned
The Logitech G604 mouse has been a revelation in the world of computer peripherals for me. Its ergonomic design, thoughtfully placed side buttons, seamless performance with no input lag, long-lasting battery life, and sleek black finish make it an absolute winner in my book. The ergonomic design of the G604 is an instant standout. It fits my hand like a glove, allowing for hours of comfortable use without any discomfort or strain. The contours and textured grip make it a joy to hold, whether I'm working, gaming, or both. The side buttons on this mouse are an absolute game-changer. Positioned perfectly, they're easily accessible without being in the way. This is especially valuable for gaming, where quick access to additional commands can be a deciding factor in a match. One of the key features of the G604 is the complete lack of input lag. Whether I'm navigating a document, fine-tuning my aim in a game, or performing intricate design work, the cursor responds instantly to my movements. It's a vital aspect for any mouse, and the G604 excels. The battery life is impressive. I don't have to worry about constantly recharging or replacing batteries. It just keeps going, ensuring I'm never interrupted in the middle of a task or gaming session. The sleek black finish is not just for aesthetics; it's also for practicality. It's easy to maintain and doesn't show wear and tear easily, which is perfect for a device that gets a lot of use. One piece of advice I'd offer for any mouse, including the G604, is to invest in a hard mouse pad. It not only provides a consistent and smooth surface for precise tracking but also prolongs the life of your mouse's feet. In conclusion, the Logitech G604 mouse is a top-notch choice for those who demand both comfort and precision in their computer peripherals. Its ergonomic design, intuitive side buttons, input lag-free performance, long battery life, and sleek aesthetics are a winning combination. To take your mouse experience to the next level, pair it with a quality hard mouse pad, and you'll have a setup that's hard to beat.

Old Friend, You Will Not Be Forgotten
this mouse lasted me about 6 years. this mouse has seen countless Warframe missions, countless hours long gaming sessions with friends, countless failed missions, and many times more successful ones this mouse has seen frozen peaks, scorching deserts, countless firearms and melee weapons, countless hours in a browser finding information on the video games i'm playing it's seen dozens of configurations and setups for hundreds of games, it's seen drops, spills, nearly dead batteries when the squad's rushing to extraction it's seen opened messages where a friend needed someone right that moment, it's seen emergency calls at midnight to talk friends down from bad decisions it's seen all that and more. it's survived for years, it's survived all of that, and never once has it let me down, had an issue, or moved in a way that betrayed me. this mouse has seen me build most of my digital life from my first email account, to my first Steam game, to learning Linux, everything. this mouse has been with me for the overwhelming majority of my digital journeys, and not once has it failed. i'm writing this review a few months after i have elected to give it retirement, in favour of an ASUS ROG Spatha X, but should i ever need it again, i have no doubts it will do what i need it to. this is the best gaming mouse i have ever owned, it fits perfectly in the hand, the original MSRP is great, the software is perfect, and the responsiveness is instant. it's earned its retirement, and it will not be forgotten. retire well, my old G604.

I love these mice
I have had a G602 for 5 years and even got my daughter on a year later when I got her a laptop. I got this one just because it was on sale again for $30 (Same as my first 2 purchases.) I put it in my closest as backup. The battery life lasts months, it's a little heavy due to the 2 AA batteries but it's still the perfect weight for me, it does 500mhz which is supposed to be good for gaming, but I don't do anything competitive, but it did great with DOOM 2016 and Cyberpunk. The software is good, I used it and swapped the page back and page forth buttons and then saved to device and deleted it. I really don't use the other side buttons, but they are all fully programmable including making macros for it and then it saves to device. There are 6 DPI modes and I use the middle option (2400dpi?) the DPI buttons are on the mouse and there is a switch in the middle to turn the mouse to economy mode which I never use since the battery life is already amazing. The mouse is super comfortable for my big hands, The thumb rest has spoiled me, and I'll never buy another mouse without one, but this mouse is made for your palm to rest on it (it has a high arch) so if you like to use the claw method this isn't for you. I never had the "double click" issue with my mouse. I didn't even know that was a thing until reddit and Facebook mentioned it. After 4 years I did have to open it and use contact cleaner for my middle button which got dirty with gunk and became hard to press, but contact cleaner did the trick and it works as new again. It was easy to open and clean. If you are looking for a good wireless mouse, I recommend this one but wait for a sale. $30 is a steal.

Great mouse for the short term, but don't expect logevity.
Started off great, and I guess that an 18-month lifespan should be expected for a gaming mouse, but a little bummed that it is acting up already. After petty much daily use of a couple hours per day - 18 months later, the primary left mouse button double-clicks it you don't apply enough pressure (way more than should be required), making it basically unusable for gaming - and quite annoying for normal daily use.

Nice mouse
I was looking back through my Amazon purchase history. In 17 years, I've purchased 6 mice, all Logitech. I've always loved my mice to death. Even though I no longer play MMOs, I still buy gaming mice, maybe out of habit. If I ever start playing again, I'm ready! Anyway, this is replacing a G602 that lasted for 4.5 years almost exactly. The mouse wheel suddenly went pffft a couple of weeks ago. It still works, but it's loose and "slidy" now. That mouse is now relegated to my laptop. This 604 is almost the same exact design, except it's more lightweight, the side buttons are easier to press because the shape has been redesigned, and the mouse wheel noticeably clicks whereas the 602's was smooth. I admit I prefer the smooth scrolling. The clicky feel will take a bit getting used to. This mouse also only takes one AA battery and, when using the USB dongle, it's supposed to last up to 240 hours. It can also connect via Bluetooth, which will apparently extend battery life to over 5 months. At least that's the spiel from the Logitech website. If it's true, that's pretty incredible. And also important, the mouse is aesthetically pleasing and feels nice in my hand. One feature that's cool (that I probably won't use) is the lightspeed button. Because this mouse can connect via USB dongle and Bluetooth, you can have this mouse connected to two devices at once. So you could have the dongle on your PC, hit the lightspeed button to switch to Bluetooth, and start seamlessly using it on your laptop. That's pretty cool. Note: I had trouble installing the mouse software on two different computers. I'd click the executable and the installer just wouldn't launch. It's apparently finicky. If you have that problem, try restarting your computer and hitting the executable first thing. That fixed the issue for me on both computers.

Excellent Battery, Buttons are convenient, but software is eh.
TLDR / Summary: Everyone from email checkers to serious gamers would love this mouse. The battery life alone is worth every penny. The only niche group I wouldn't recommend this for is competitive fast-paced shooter gamers. More Detail Below! This mouse is excellent. I'll start with the bad, because it's only one thing: Logitech Ghub software. This is the software you'll need if you want to map all those extra buttons to useful features. It's perfectly fine if you don't game often, but is a bit finicky for some games. This is true for all logitech mouses though, so not a lot of fault on this product specifically and you get used to it. BATTERY: Battery life lasted me approximately 3 months of 8+hrs/day use. I used the maxed 1000hz settings the entire time. Truly unmatched compared to any other gaming mouse. The battery dying just now is what prompted this review in fact. Unfortunately, there's no warning before it dies. It is also a small bummer that there's no charging port where you could utilize rechargeable batteries on this mouse, but it's not a deal-breaker due to the longevity. I use (externally) rechargeable AA batteries anyway. BUTTONS: The primary left/right click and scroll wheel are fantastic. I'm a bit picky about the sound that mouses make, and these switches are not annoying in the slightest. The scroll wheel feels really premium. The multi-function buttons are conveniently placed, but you won't be annoyed by them either. I would recommend this mouse to literally anyone, even if they don't think they have a use for all the buttons. Comfort: For reference, I'm primarily a claw/fingertip grip guy. These are both comfortable for me on this mouse. It is really designed for palm grippers anyway, so everyone should be happy with these ergonomics. To my surprise, I really like the thumb rest too. It adds a lot more control than you'd expect. The mouse is a bit heavy if you're really into twitch shooters, but I enjoy it with typical shooters like battlefield and all other game genres. Typical productivity is not at all impacted by the weight, either. Durability: I threw this mouse haphazardly in the bottom of my suitcase 6 times now and is completely unmarked, despite baggage handlers' best efforts. Bluetooth functionality: I have not tested this yet, will update if I do.

Excellent quality, versatility, and price. Too bad it's been discontinued.
Best mouse I've owned, and very sad it's been discontinued. An upgrade from the G602. Pros: - Six side buttons and two additional buttons by the left click. - Side scroll on the scroll wheel. - Scroll wheel unlock allows the scroll wheel to free-spin for rapidly scrolling long pages. - Bluetooth/Lightspeed quick toggle allows quick swap between devices. - Quality materials make the mouse feel comfortable to hold, and the scroll wheel has a very satisfying weight to it. - All keys are fully reprogrammable (aside from scroll wheel unlock and lightspeed/Bluetooth toggle). By downloading the Logitech program you can reprogram all mouse functions, including left/right click and scroll up/down/left/right. You can use the program to automatically switch between key bind profiles depending on which app you are using or you can set (up to 3 I believe) profiles on the mouse itself, which will be usable on any device you connect the mouse to. You can set one key to switch between profiles, as well as set a "G-Shift" key that toggles all key binds while you have that key pressed. This allows a huge amount of key bind customization. - I do not play games competitively, but I have never had issues with input lag. I use the lightspeed dongle for my gaming PC, and the Bluetooth connectivity for anything else (I believe you can have 3 devices paired at a time, though I'm not positive as I only have 1 other device I connect regularly). That said I have used the Bluetooth connection for gaming on many occasions and I personally don't notice any input lag. - The mouse runs on 1 AA battery, and in my experience will run on that battery for slightly less than a year. - Pocket for the lightspeed dongle and on/off switch allows you to easily pack up the mouse and toss it in a travel back for transport without worrying about losing anything or draining the battery. - I bought this mouse for $65, and I would have paid much more for it. Cons: - The Logitech G-Hub program (and its predecessor before it) can be really annoying to use, and sometimes fail to correctly switch your profile to the correct program-specific setup, leaving you without your key binds in-game. Never had any problems with profiles saved to the mouse though, so manual profile toggle still works great. - The use of AA instead of a rechargeable battery may not be preferable to some. I find it convenient, but perhaps it is more wasteful of resources. I tend to get slightly under a year of use out of 1 battery. Additional Info: - After ~3.5 years of use the right click stopped working. By this time the mouse was discontinued and there were no other mice like it that I could find, so I bought a new chip and took the mouse apart to replace the old one. The chip cost me $14 on eBay and the repair was simple (though there are many screws and parts, so take pictures and watch a video online first). It seems you can replace almost all of the parts for fairly cheap. - The grip on the thumb rest came up from the plastic underneath it after a couple years, and I had to glue it back down. - Other than that, the quality materials have held up well, and the only sign of wear has been a slight sheen that has appeared on the left/right click buttons and some scratches on the shiny strip down the middle. - This mouse (and the G602 before it) has made my life significantly easier from allowing me extra key binds for gaming to quickly navigating the web. Well worth the cost.

They improved it by making everything worse {Update: software unusable. never buying logitech again}
Welcome to the future, visitor from 2016! We've done everything we can, here in the year 2023 to take everything you used to love and improve on it by taking away everything that was once good about it and slashing the price (for us). I'm only 20% joking. Had the G602 since 2016 and it finally took its last cat-related beating. It was the best mouse you could ever ask for. You like spreadsheets, you nerd? Blammo, put all those excel shortcuts in that thang and spread. Games? Psh! Thing was perfect. So what do i get as a replacement for the absolute beast that was the 602 (RIP) ? This guy, with its clunky butt scroll wheel. Oh, they improved the scrollwheel SOOO hard! Now you can click the wheel to the left and the right, wow! Say goodbye to your reliable quiet g602, because now you can join the percussion section of your local latin jazz group, because this thing rattles like a go-go dancer in chainmail goin through withdrawals. Do you like having one, smooth motion setting for that scroll wheel? What are you, a millenial?! Can i see your calves through your pants? This thing has now got TWO scroll settings!!! TWO!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!? One setting prevents the wheel from going too smoothly and scrolling too quickly, so it limits it to a little baby mini scroll, (it's okay, some people can't handle a husky manly POWERSCROLL, nothing to be ashamed of) with a nice, ratchety ratcheting sounds (cue that fire latin rhythm). The other scroll setting is just like, "Blam! Sonic! Wario!" Scroll to the end of twitter to the start of all creation in a flash. Even when you stop the wheel from spinning out of control, the scroll SKIDS. I dont even know how else to describe it. It skids. Find out for yourself. I lost the steam to go into the rest of the problems, namely how this isnt supported by the classic logitech gaming software that had ZERO flaws (disclaimer: zero is a hyperbole), so you have to use g hub which logitech painstakingly made sure to take away anything that ever made LGS good while creating. Gone are the days when you can click on a button in your software, hit the key you want to assign to a button, and have that key assigned to a button. Now with the new and improved software you can scroll down a list of predetermined keys or system commands to choose from and physically drag it from that list to the button. Who needs convenience or intuitiveness when you have a cool black colored palette to look at?! Do you need to enter a shift+ or control+ command line? Well welcome to the future, dingus, do you even macro? You need to make a new macro for ever ctrl+ shift+ or any multiple key/button combo. You know what else you have to make a macro for? ?. The answer was "?" because you need to make a macro for shift+/ . Absolutely brilliant! Perfect decision. Excellent judgement. And just to improve on the frustration, if you minimize the window to look up the controls for what you are programming, g hub will conveniently automatically switch back to assigning buttons to the default desktop controls so if you're not careful you'll have to reset all your default assignments AND whatever game you were setting the assignments to to begin with. You know what else was a brilliant decision? Moving the indicator light from the side where it can be visible to under your palm so that you no longer have to look at an led changing when your dpi settings change. So there you have it. Great job, all around, everybody pat yourself on the back, Logitech. **UPDATE** For no apparent reason, GHUB stopped working. This issue was widely reported on reddit, and no solution has been found. Attempts to get tech support failed spectacularly, and after dropping, what was it, $100 for this mouse? it works as well as a five below wireless mouse now. never buying logitech again.
