Fun experiment
This was lots of fun. Did it with a four year old who was probably a little young. Her attention span wasn’t long enough to care about the process. She was only interested in the results. But it gave fun results. And I think it would be great for a little older (and it is actually marketed to)

Great for any little scientist
I bought this as a birthday gift for my nephew. I also shopped for the extra things needed to do the experiments. That way no one was put out if he ran out of the things provided by the kit or things needed that was not in kit. He loved it and played all day doing experiments some over and over. Great gift for any child interested in science.

Fun; materials and booklet are pretty good
I bought this looking for a science kit that wasn't slime. There are way too many slime things out there at the moment! As you'd guess from the name, a lot of this kit is basically "fun with baking soda and vinegar" except for instead of vinegar it provides citric acid powder for your little scientist to dissolve in water. But there are good suggestions in the booklet for helping to guide your child towards more real scientific thinking (I kinda have a pet peeve about calling it "science" when you just mix stuff together to go poof, fizz, boom, whatever and leave it at that, and all the products out there that lead kids to think that to be "science" it has to change color, fizz, or blow up!) - adjusting amounts and observing/recording how that affects the amount of and time of fizzing, etc. Instead of liquid food coloring there are color tablets like those in egg dyeing kits. The pieces included are nice (cups, stir sticks, measuring spoon); be prepared to use some additional containers (raid the recycling bin!) to do extension activities, and a plastic shoebox or dishpan or something to keep mess contained. My daughter (6) needs/wants my help to use it and we only can when the toddler naps, so we haven't done all the activities yet but they look like they will be good, and there are extensions for most if not all of them in the instruction booklet. Some of them do ask for other materials/ingredients not included in the kit but it's all things pretty much anyone would have in their kitchen already. There might not be much you can't just do with regular kitchen materials, but it's still worth it especially to give as a gift - this nice little box is a lot more appealing than a grocery bag of random stuff and really it probably doesn't cost a lot more than it would to buy all the equivalent items at the supermarket!

An Easy, Fun Starter Kit for LIttle Ones
This kit has 7 experiments with easy to understand explanations for the chemical reactions between the citric acid and the baking soda. There is just enough baking soda and citric acid to do the listed 7 labs. If you do the "fun things to try" section, you will not have enough ingredients to do all the listed experiments. As this is a basic acid/base neutralization kit, older kids will not be thrilled with this. All of the experiments were easy to read and all of them worked. An easy kit for a beginner to do as a weekend project.

A fun learning experience
Bought this Science kit for my 7 year old grandson who loves science. He and I had a great time doing the experiments. The ingredients are safe and the experiments are easy. He learned to measure, observe and discuss what happened in a fun way with Grandma!

Science kit
I was a little disapointed with this kit. We have seen better. I have to say that it does have educational notes in with each experiment to help teach what is going on. I was expecting a wider variety of experiments and more props. Kids love most of all to mix things and there were no droppers or little scoops to allow them to do that. The "chemicals" were all in opaque silver lined bags so they were hard to pour and impossible to get a hand in to dig contents out meaning that mom had to pour it all into the one measuring spoon taking some of the fun out of it all. A different kit we had purchased came with test tubes, droppers, measuring cups, little scoops etc. and they had more fun when they were able to do more things themselves! It's not a bad product just looks more involved from the box than it really is.

Our 9 & 10 year old love it
Great product. Kids loved doing the experiments. You need parents assistance and I recommend using a large towel or something to cover the table where you will be working with this. I purchased about 10 different kits and really like this company's products for the kids. Very good directions also.

Use items in your house, not worth the cost
Not what I thought it would be. Most items in the kit can be found in a pantry and certainly not worth the price of the kit. Experiments were boring and not up to expectations
