A girl I began dating three months ago told me she read this book recently and it greatly encouraged her spirit as an age 30-something single woman.I eagerly read the book without telling her, and then I would text her quotes that I also related to as a single guy. We were both so moved with emotion as we came to realize we both felt the same fears and uncertainties of being single. Plus, to be honest, I scored huge points by showing her I cared enough to read this book and text quotes to her week after week!As far as the book itself, the author, Mandy, is a very gifted writer, and I love how simple, short, and to the point this book's sections are.So whether you're a single woman struggling with your place in life or a man also desiring to be in a relationship, I highly recommend this encouraging testimony of God's grace to all!PS: God's timing is amazing because He has used this book to help unite my heart with my girlfriend, and we are so much more thankful to be with each other in light of the truths contained in this book!

It's difficult to begin talking about Mandy Hale's writing without using words like amazing, phenomenal, moving, beautiful, blessings, truth, light, and inspiring, so I won't even try. I've rarely felt this blessed and enlightened by an author in my life and I'm approaching the big 4-0:) For reader's at or near my age, Miss Hale shares her experience in such a way that you truly feel like you're listening to your best friend who is wise beyond her years. A friend who gives advice with such love and simplicity that you can't ignore it, and you're moved and inspired to be a better you."Beautiful Uncertainty" has redefined what it means for me to be a woman embracing this season of my life. I used to look at this time with such disdain and regret that I somehow didn't do something right in the past to land me in this loneliness. But I get a wink from God and those feelings fade when Mandy so eloquently says, "I often need to be reminded that God's timetable is better than mine. I followed Mandy's career for a very long time and have devoured quickly all of the books that she has written. They're not meant to be some sort of manual or have a specific order plot device to deliver a proper theory on why you're going to do what you are and how to deal with it. They're honest and raw, books written from her heart about her journey in this world where things are a lot more complicated and never go as planned. This book really speaks to that and how we can't always go with our plans because God or the universe even have a plan for us that may not line up with what we want and in our timing.Mandy writes like a sister, or an aunt who wants us to feel encouraged and like we're in this together. For those who have held constant heartbreak and frustration, those who have never felt like things are going the way that they should I truly urge you to get this book because it makes things make sense and helps you feel not alone. You'll walk away from it feeling encouraged.

From two chapters in to this book I was struggling to read it. I am the type of person that doesn't like to leave a book unfinished so I pressed on. Spoiler alert, the point never lands. There is no clear story or message here. Each chapter is snippets of the authors life and story that are only superficially discussed with little context and no clear direction. Each new chapter picks up in a different, seemingly unrelated point in life and she jumps around from past to present to what she hopes the future will be so frequently that my head spun. I spent the entirety of this book trying to decipher what the author was trying to convey with each "story". It all seemed like false vulnerability to me. Very superficial and poorly put together. It felt forced and contrived. So much of the "story" here just pointed to reading one of her previous books if you wanted to know the actual story and I just cannot bring myself to read another thing from this author. Shame. It had promise.

I love the extras that came with it, since I pre-ordered it, it came with a nice sticker, tiny screen cleaner and a thick paper board with a good saying of, "God is big enough to handle anything. Our fears. Our questions. Our beautiful uncertainties." By Mandy Hale. I think the book was good. Read it in 3 days. But I wouldn't say I'm "in love" with it. I thought only 1 chapter out of the whole book resonated with my life. I really didn't vibe well with it. But that doesn't mean someone else can't benefit fully from it. I would highly recommend giving it a read and see what you think. As for me, I didn't really like it that much. And I resold it on amazon for a cheaper price for someone else to benefit from it. I love the extras I got though for being a preordering person. I would say I'd give the book 2 stars, personally. But I'm giving it 4, because I think the author is great, she's well intentioned, she wants to help people. And although this book wasn't my favorite and didn't connect well with my life haha... I think it could probably help someone else. The book was well intentioned, but the only thing I got out of it, was just another simple reminder for me, that it's okay to embrace uncertainty, it's beautiful in many ways during your in-between stages in your life. And that anything is possible! And that is okay with me. It's better than nothing haha!

I really enjoyed this book. At the start of 2014, Mandy Hale made just one New Year's resolution: "I will seek, pursue, and fall in love with Jesus with radical abandon." The book contains stories and reflections on how that played out in her life- both in the everyday decisions of life and in some major moments of stepping out in faith. Throughout it she encourages the reader to embrace and see beauty in the uncertainty of life, secure in the certainty of God with us.It is entertaining and easy to read but there is also a depth to it, and there are a lot of parts I highlighted and will return to and reflect further. It challenged me about surrendering to God and stepping out in faith.Despite the subtitle I don't think this book is only relevant to people who are single. I think it would be really helpful to anyone wrestling with surrendering to God or facing a time of waiting and uncertainty.

Really nicely written, easy to read and nice style of writing. Really makes you think about life and the journey of relationships. Interesting to see how she dealt with situations and hear her life and perspective.

A great book, lighthearted and full of insightful anecdotes. Mandy is truly and older sister, a friend and always there to cheer you on;) sort of like a Christian Carrie ;)

I really wanted to like this book. It is a good read, but feels more like Mandy Hale has put together what's in her diary / blog. I can't say I learnt anything new, it does not give any real answers but ultimately tells you to embrace the uncertainty. I am disappointed as I've got her other book on order. Hopefully I'll enjoy that more.

I loved the realness and authenticity of this book. Very down to earth writer making it a simple yet impactful read.
