It curls beautifully and is worth the value. One thing that I don’t like is it feels hard to press down and feels like you don’t know how much pressure your curling the eyelashes. It doesn’t curl the corners of the eyelash and hurts if you try.

I'm not sure if all cover girl eyelash curlers are defective or it was just mine but my curler didn't have enough movement between the finger holes. It wouldn't curl at all. There needed to be more room between the finger holes. I'm not sure if my words are sufficient enough to convey what I am trying to say.

AMAZING! NOT silicone! Actual rubber!!!! I bought SIX different eye lash curlers and they all use silicone for the pad except this one!!!!!! THIS ONE uses old school rubber and I love it!!!! People should STOP making the silicone pads and use real rubber. Although it’s a bit short (the eye opening isn’t as big as it used to be) it’s amazing quality! Buy it!!!

EDIT- Just used the curler on one side, yep, slight curl, but this time I used mascara. One eye curled eyelashes first, other one I just used my old standby the L'Oreal Voluminous Original with curling brush. NO DIFFERENCE! They look the same. So will just keep using the mascara with the curling brush. _________________________________________________________________________ OK for decades, LOVED the Maybelline eyelash curler, cheap and worked. Then somewhere along the line, they changed to those silicone? black pads and just, well, NO. PRETTTY much useless. WHY do people mess with a good thing? Anyway, I have tried expensive curlers, and realized they didn't work that much better, if at all. Decided after reading reviews to try to the Covergirl. THIS reminds me of the old Maybelline one! PROS: RUBBER as opposed to black silicone pad! WORKS so much better CURL - of course I want my lashes to look immensely better after using this, but I am turning 70, my eyelashes aren't as thick as they were 20, 30, 40 years ago, so the BEST I can hope for is some curl. I got a little bit, but not much. WORK - Yes, you do have to PRESS DOWN and hold the curler for about a count of 20, pump the curler up and down a few times and then PRESS DOWN and hold for another count of 20, but I DID get some curl in the lashes I still have and it didn't rip them or pinch my skin! It helps I have used an eyelash curler for about fifty years and am comfortable with one. BOTTOMLINE: Yes, works better than Maybelline, but that's not saying much. Since my mascara with curling brush side looked NO different than the side I used this curler, will just skip this step. Can't tell difference, and easier on my eyelashes (what I have left).

This curler used to be everywhere. Now, the curlers use silicone cushions, open as wide as pliers, and are way too wide. The price is the same as it was in the 70"s. 1st let me say....if anyone says these cut their lashes in half...they squeeze this beauty tool like they are choking a live trout or forgot they were using all the other silicone filled curlers!! This is "the" old hollywood makeup artists tool that works! The curvature is perfect because it is moon shaped and smaller in width than all the other curlers. It has the proper mechanism, not the sloppy one that sits against your cheek or the weird scissor one that pinches your eye and cheek. And the biggest plus...the cushion is rubber!! This is important because the other ones have silicone...hard silicone that is slippery and allows your lashes to roll...so yes the metal squeezing can in fact cut your lashes. They get away with cheating us out of pure rubber because if the silicone is cutting newly growing lashes we just don't notice. I ordered 3 more of these for storage. Because I do not want to have to look for this one if they become hard to get again. If you want movie star lashes you see on camera, then use this contraption to curl your lashes.
