Great Filter! Very pleased!!!
I bought this filter for my 14'x48" Bestway pool and It was the best decision I ever made. Great suction, great value for your money, and performs amazing! It's very easy to clean, and my water has never been more clear! Last year we had such a hard time keeping the water in our pool from getting cloudy, or green. It was the most frustrating thing and by the end of the year I had given up on it. I wanted a filter that was going to more than do the job And I'm very happy with my new sand filter! I use filter balls and everything has been so smooth! I have only added chlorine and shock and the water has remained crystal clear. It has a great flow compared to my last filter. I will say that the instructions are not very clear I'm putting it together, but YouTube helped with that and the assembly was actually fairly easy. This was a great buy and is a great quality pump!

This is a good option.
We bought this filter for a large swimming pool and, although we had to purchase the sand separately at Walmart, the results have been very good. The system works efficiently, keeping the water clean and crystal clear even with frequent pool use. Installation was simple, and once running, the filter shows good power and capacity to handle large volumes of water. Its consistent performance makes pool maintenance much easier and more convenient. Overall, it is an excellent option for those looking for a reliable and effective filter for large pools.

motor shorted out a few months after bought it and 3 hoses got cracks in them before summer was over
Bought this last summer. Initially it worked great. crystal clear water, powerful return like a hot tub jet. But hoses seemed to get leaks often. It’s best to have back up hoses in storage. The hose from the filter to the motor developed a leak just a few months after getting it. The water dripped down the hose and onto the motor housing. Woke up one morning and noticed the pump had not run all day. Pressed the power button to turn it on and it shut off as soon as it turned on. We took the motor apart and everything appeared fine. Can’t figure out what happened. Very upsetting as it’s now almost summer again and we do t have a working pump and i don’t want to spend over $100 on a new motor! if these things are meant to be outside in rain and pool water being splashed, why did my motor short out? very upset!

Keeping it clear
As someone who understands the importance of crystal-clear pool water, especially with the warm summer here in Boaz, AL, a reliable filter pump is absolutely essential. I recently upgraded to the XtremePowerUS 13-inch sand filter pump, and overall, it's been a great addition to my pool setup. Review: XtremePowerUS 13-inch Sand Filter Pump – A Powerful Cleaner, Just Needs a Window to the World Keeping an above-ground pool pristine can be a chore, but the right equipment makes all the difference. My new XtremePowerUS 13-inch sand filter pump has proven to be a workhorse, making pool maintenance significantly easier. Quality & Performance: A Clean Machine First off, the overall quality of this pump is commendable. It feels solidly built, and the components appear durable enough to withstand the demands of continuous pool filtration. The pump is adequately powered for its size, effectively circulating the water and pushing it through the sand media. It works exactly as it should, consistently keeping my pool water nice and clean. Gone are the days of cloudy water and visible debris; this filter system maintains a clarity that makes swimming much more inviting. For the performance it delivers, the price was good, offering excellent value compared to other options on the market. Shipping & Setup: Swift and Simple The purchasing experience was also top-notch. The shipping was fast, getting the pump to my doorstep in Guntersville quicker than expected. This meant less downtime for my pool and more time for enjoyment. Setup was straightforward, and I had it up and running without any major hiccups, which is always a relief when dealing with new pool equipment. The One Missing Piece: No Site Glass My only significant critique, and it's one that impacts convenience more than core performance, is the lack of a dedicated site glass to know when to backwash. For those unfamiliar, a site glass (or sight glass) is a small, clear window usually located on the multiport valve of a sand filter. It allows you to visually monitor the color of the backwash water. When the water turns clear, you know the sand is clean and you can stop the backwash cycle. Without this feature, I'm left guessing a bit. While I rely on the pressure gauge (backwashing when the pressure rises about 8-10 PSI above its clean reading) and a rough estimate of time, a visual confirmation would be incredibly helpful. It would prevent over-backwashing (saving water) or under-backwashing (ensuring optimal filtration). It's a small detail that makes a big difference in efficient maintenance. Final Verdict: Despite the absence of a site glass, the XtremePowerUS 13-inch sand filter pump is an excellent choice for maintaining a clean and clear above-ground pool. Its good quality, effective cleaning power, and competitive price, coupled with fast shipping, make it a highly recommended product. If you're comfortable relying on your pressure gauge and a bit of a routine for backwashing, this pump will serve you very well and keep your pool sparkling clean all season long. It's a solid 5 out of 5 stars for its performance and value!

Easy set up if you gather what you need first
The set up took about an hour. It was a little frustrating to not have connection instructions, that was kind of a guessing game where tubes went. I believe it’s because being a universal pump, different pools have different inlet and outlets. We have two holes for pumps, where some have only one. There seems to be a lot of power to this pump and the water is definitely moving well. I think it’s neat that it has the timer function so we can set it to start and stop so that it does not need to run continuously like our old pump. This is only day one so I cannot comment on durability until we’ve run it a season, or at least for a few weeks. We have a skimmer attached and that seems to be working well with the pump. We opted to use sand, but I believe you can use filter balls. We have an 18 foot easy set pool and this seems to filter the water sufficiently..

Great purchase!
Excellent water pomp filter! I had the original one that my above ground pool brings and it wasn’t doing the job the way it should. After installing this one, I noticed the difference within approximately 2 hours. I wish I would’ve purchased it sooner. Definitely 5 stars! Totally recommended. The instructions on the manual are not great at all. However, there is an excellent video of how to assemble it on youtube that explains step by step on how you assemble it your self. The cord isn’t long enough so I had to purchase an 25ft outdoor extension cord with the correct power requirements at HomeDepot. For that I had to search on google the following: “can an extension cord be plugged in anxtremepowerus 13 maximum” and after typing that in, all the information on purchasing the correct extension cord came out. Also I purchased an additional protection for the water pump & the extension cord when connected together, although it says is for outdoor. The item is a small box that’s called “ Twist and seal cord protection” also at homedepot fot $5.95. Overall this has been a great purchase. Don’t forget to watch the youtube video if you want to assemble it correctly like i did.

All in all, decent
For the price, it’s pretty decent. Be patient assembling it, and know you’ll need to make a trip to the store to get what else you need. I recommend swapping the plastic hose clamps out for metal ones, and upgrade the hoses from the pool to the pump to a thicker hose (pool stores have them and will cut them down to your needed size) to improve suction. Also, get a T valve if you have 2 inlets going from the pool to the pump. This will bring the 2 inlets into one line into the filter and most come with a shut off so you can easily stop water from coming into the pump/filter when you need to clean it. Make sure you turn it back on before you run your pump again! My first one burned up/had an electrical issue and they did replace it which I appreciated. It has a built in timer so you can set up when/how long you want it to run every day and also has manual controls. I was even able to run a basic pool vacuum with it, although it’s easier to get a battery unit that runs independently.

Decent filter
This has been in for a couple days now and seems to be operating just fine. No leaks. What I like: It’s much quieter than I expected. It’s got decent power and seems to turn over the water efficiently. The timer is easy to use What I don’t like: THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE ABSOLUTE TRASH. The base plate is…I’m not even 100% sure it’s for this model but the pre-drilled holes didn’t exactly match up to the bolt pattern on the bottom of the pump. I did find one set that was close. Did I mention the instructions were a hot steaming pile of doo-doo? It tells you not to use any hose smaller than 40mm but the pump to filter interconnect hose is 1.25”. And the fittings give you the option for 1.25 or 1.50. Hoses with a threaded collar don’t work. I suppose either would work. It didn’t collapse my old 1.25 hose…yet. I’m taking off two stars just because the instructions are just SO bad.
