KOHLER K-12183-BN Fairfax Tall, Single Control Lavatory Faucet, Vibrant Brushed Nickel

So far, so good with this lovely retro type looking faucet. I had the cheapest faucet ever installed by the home builders in our guest bathroom for years. I finally kicked down and bought this one as it looked nice and had that high arch to it where you can get a good hand washing and not have to make any contact with the sink like we did with the old cheapo faucet. The water comes out at a nice pressure and had a pleasant sound to it. Not like our old one where the water kind of splashed and gushed out. This one has a nice aerated water sound to it, if that makes any sense. Good sturdy, solid movement turning on and off and easy to clean. My brother-in-law installed it and did a wonderful job.

We bought these as a fast necessary change from the Grohe 8" spread we had wanted and were told we could use, but found they weren't possible to use. We returned others and bought these at a huge savings and love their classic look. They work well and saved a lot of "headaches" from the change and fit the decor nicely. I had looked elsewhere previously at the single handle faucet and only saw very contemporary , which these are not. The price was also far better than the local plumbing supply house which did not stock these and would have taken far longer to receive. Another hit from Amazon!

I've used this bath faucet in several different houses over a 12 year period. I prefer single handle designs and like this one's style. You can either use the base plate or leave it off for a more contemporary look. The chrome finish cleans and holds up well and I never had any leaks. Make sure you have enough room between the wall or back splash and the bowl. In my current house (60 years old), I have only a 3.5" space and my plumber had to finagle the drain handle backwards so I could use it -- I'm guessing 4" or more would be better. Also, my plumber is old and set in his ways -- hot water to the right, cold on the left, no matter what the handle indicates. This handle indicates hot to the left; cold to the right. So keep an eye out while it's being installed so the water lines are attached correctly. Overall, it's a good, mid-range value and nice design that won't get outdated quickly.

I bought one of these units from a local supply store years ago and installed it in one of our bathrooms. It fit the sink very well, provided good room under the spigot for hand washing, filling drinking glasses, etc. - unlike the previously installed unit. One strong attraction was the claim that this unit is built extra sturdy - since that bathroom is used by 2 very rough boys. It has held up well and looks good. A year ago our other bath faucet started leaking badly and I wanted another one of these Kohler K-12181-CP to match the other B Room. But I couldn't locate one locally or online - partly due to the fact I didn't know the model or number. I never thought to look on Amazon until this spring when the leaking was getting worse and I felt more motivated to locate a faucet. I was so surprised and VERY pleased to find the exact unit I wanted at a very good price and free shipping to boot. Installation is reasonably easy and I'm confident it will work well for a long time unlike some of the junk on the market these days. The unit was shipped very quickly too.

The fit and finish are great, the water lines are long, everything was simple to hook-up. Looks perfect in our retro bathroom. One note, I installed it on a shallow 24" vanity, there was not clearance for the drain ball-rod at the bottom. For some reason this was about 2 inches longer than the American standard unit it replaced. I was able to get around this by cutting it with a hacksaw.

I've never spent this much on a bathroom faucet, but boy did this open my eyes to what a couple of dollars more will get you. This is a solid faucet, and by solid I mean metal. None of the chrome-like plastic pieces I am used to dealing with. This thing is solid and heavy. This faucet has a smooth valve system. The lever moves easily but isn't sloppy or loose. The drain with integrated stopper works great. This stopper actually stops all the water from draining, not like some of the automatic stoppers on the market. And the stopper simply lifts out if you need to clean the drain. Wonderful. My only complaint was the angled position of the stopper lever at the back of the faucet. Because my vanity has the faucet mount very close to the back, the back wall can interfere with the operation of the stopper. Fortunately, a few adjustments to the linkage, and I could shorten the stroke of the lever, and everything works fine. Still a bit tighter clearance than I Like. Everything fit together well and the instructions are adequate. My first Kohler fixture, but certainly not my last.

I love the style and the single handle control. I had three of these in my former house and now have a couple in the house I am renovating. I prefer single control in general as you have more room and less to clean around on the sink compared to a faucet with wide set handles. These faucets are easy to install and stay working and looking great for years. Will keep on buying this style as long as it is available.

Our previous faucet needed replacement after 7 years. This one is comfortable, to use with one finger. Flow is limited to a sensible value. Early to say, but it looks like it will work forever. Installation is extremely easy.

We needed something with a low profile that would fit under our low medicine cabinet door. This fits perfectly and is stylish too. My husband did not report any difficulty installing it.

This is a gorgeous set of taps, although expensive (worth the extra for the exotic look and sturdy make). They are made of heavy, solid metal. I bought this darling set thinking they would fit, as they are the same style as our previous taps. By the time we got the plumber in and found out they were 1/2" too wide, it was too late to return them. Thankfully, Amazon gave me a short extension, as the circumstances made it difficult for me to find out if I was happy with the product within the 30 day time frame. I greatly appreciate Amazon giving me the benefit of a doubt. THANKS AMAZON!!! I am very disappointed that this set won't fit our sink, as they are top quality and look amazing. Measure carefully - this set cannot be used on a regular 4" centre.

Very stylish unit, with a traditional look that fits the century house we are helping our daughter to renovate The pre-installed flexible water lines made installation a breeze. What we really appreciated is the ability to set the maximum hot water temperature - we have a 3-year old granddaughter and now we are assured she will not scald her hands - the temperature can be adjusted upwards when she gets older Highly recommended
