If you ride a Japanese bike, GET ONE
Did you know that most of the Philips screws on Japanese bikes are not Philips at all? Nope, they're a very similar style known as JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard). You can technically use a Philips screwdriver on these, but they're much more likely to slip out and destroy they head of the screw. If you're worked on Japanese stuff before (especially old carburetors), you know what I'm talking about. My old Japanese bike has some screws that haven't been touched for 20+ years. They won't come out without a fight. This screwdriver is perfect for those situations because it fits the JIS heads much more tightly than a typical Philips screwdriver, reducing the chances of stripping the screw head. It can also be used as an impact driver. Put the driver's tip into a screw, hit the butt with a hammer and the shank will rotate slightly counterclockwise. This is effective for really difficult screws, though you have to be careful that your hammering doesn't do more damage. For anything using JIS screws, there is a night and day difference between using this screwdriver and a typical Philips. The quality is excellent and the price is very reasonable. It's earned a permanent spot in my tool cart for these reasons.

A great screwdriver
Easily one of the best screwdrivers I have gotten. Works perfect on every screw on my ct110. Doesn't strip them, magnetic tip holds the screws on, very happy. Haven't needed to use the hammer on it yet so I can't speak to that, but it works perfect as a regular screwdriver so far

Don’t get screwed. Here you have one of high quality.
This is a super fine quality screwdriver. Unfortunately, for us, the head of the screwdriver was slightly larger than we could use. Otherwise, we would’ve kept it. I highly recommend this impact screwdriver.

By the way JIS stands for Japanese Industrial Standard but better known as Japanese Phillips
I never knew these JIS drivers existed until I saw a bike mechanic refer to these in a Youtube video. By the way JIS stands for Japanese Industrial Standard but better known as Japanese Phillips. JIS-spec cross-head screws are generally marked with a single raised dot or an "X". JIS always fit Phillip fasteners, but because of slight design differences, Phillips drivers may not fit JIS fasteners. (unless the tip is ground down a bit). JIS B 1012:1985 screw standard is throughout the Asia market and Japanese imports. The driver has a 57 degree point with a flat tip, parallel wings. As you can see by the photos the difference of the regular Phillips fastener and the JIS is very slight. These work very well with regular Phillips and I tend to go to these when fastening or loosening a Phillips fastener. As you can see by the photos, it makes sense when using a regular Phillips driver on a Phillips fastener as to why it's so easy to cam out, or in other words slip off the head of the fastener. This can be very frustrating. Try using a JIS on a regular Phillips fastener and you'll be surprised how much of a torque you can create before you start to cam out. I wish I had known about these sooner! What I like about this particular JIS driver is it is a driver and impact driver all in one. If you have a super tight fastener you might get lucky using this and a hammer. What happens when you hit the top of this driver with a hammer s it turns the driver 12 degrees to the left. It's very important that when you hit the top of this driver you are holding it very tight. Some people might say you only use this particular driver for removing tight fasteners but I use this for both, why not. I liked this #2 JIS Impacta driver so much I bought the #1 JIS screwdriver. I now plan on getting all the JIS screwdrivers so I can be prepared for any size fastener. I hope this review helped, if it did please give me a helpful vote. Thanks.

The jis screwdriver works well.

Great grip on both handle and grip
This screwdriver has a very comfortable handle which includes a reverse impact action. It is excellent for Japanese bikes, four wheelers, and most any Phillips screws. It fits screws better then any of my brand name screwdrivers. The impact action loosens tight screws, like on some carburetors, easily without rounding out the screw head. This is a well designed, quality product.

I love it, novel idea and practical.
I saw it on an AvE video and I scooped me up one. I have been very pleased with it, it is JIS so it fits better (especially Japanese cars etc..) but I am convinced that it is working better in normal phillips screws. I use mine nearly daily (usually while removing the rotor hold down screws on cars) It has actually saved the day at my shop a couple times because our dedicated impact driver (matco branded) evidently has a normal phillips driver bit and it usually works ok but they had rounded out a fastener on a rotor and it was CHOWDERED right up... stick my Impacta in there and with a couple wacks it was out. (I have the #2, but a #3 might fit better for rotor screws but its working for me) I just like the idea of "killing 2 birds with one stone" I have a relatively small toolbox at work and have very limited space. I like the shape and feel (the lettering will wear off though if you care about that) Thoroughly impressed with it... I will look at buying Vessel screwdrivers if I need new screwdrivers in the future.

Fantastic! Bought this as i work on old postie bikes and was sick of stripping those soft screws on the clutch cover and stator cover. Thiese drivers are great at that

A must have if you work on any Japanese vehicles. ( motorcycles included ) Took a while to arrive but appears to be very well made product. I had the opportunity to use it yesterday working on my Nissan truck. The fit into the Japanese phillips head screws was so much better than the standard North American phillips drivers I have been using. I have not tried the "impact driver" feature on it as of yet, but am pretty sure it would work well. As stated, the feel of this tool would suggest it's a quality piece and comparable, or perhaps even a bit better than the Snap-on and Mac drivers that I have.
