Galaxy Note 10.1
update October 2013. I have been using this for a couple of months now and love it, no change from my original review, my additional info is regarding connectivity, which I have found is a problem. because the USB multi connector is on the bottom you cannot connect things to it when it is in its stand/case. you need a dock. You try and find one that does more than charge without having to carry loads of accessories. The Samsung looks good but does not connect to multimedia devices, it will only charge. it needs a multimedia docking station. Other than that I love it, still 5 stars but buyers need to be aware of this annoyance. This is a brilliant device, I have been using it for 2 weeks now getting it configured the way I want it and I cannot fault the device. watching movies, email, internet, calendar synced with my laptop (windows) I had better declare at this point that I do not like being controlled by a device and therefore do not like Apple ithings. There are criticisms on other reviews on this device but they are not a problem that has affected me. Nothing is perfect but I think this is as perfect as you can get. I know it is not the cheapest but compared to an ipad better value. As a photographer it displays my photographs brilliantly. Highly recommended, get one you will not be disappointed

Glad I went for this tablet!
This is a really great tablet. Good size, great scrolling, excellent apps and store. Very easy set up. Bought as a gift so only limited usage so far but lots of really great features. I have a HTC phone and Windows 8 computer and have found the transition very easy. If you own a Samsung product already, you'll find its functionality even easier. I'm not a fan of the pen, but you don't have to use it and that's purely down to personal choice. It works well. The tablets screen resolution is also good and the volume is pretty decent considering the size of the speakers. It arrived with good information, charger, overseas adapter and USB. Very easy set up and WIFI works well. Very happy with purchase.

Poor quality, not durable, Samsung won't fix
This tablet is nice to use, but unfortunately the casing is cheap, poor quality plastic that breaks easily. After only a few months bits of the casing have literally fallen off. I am not rough with the tablet, I've never dropped it. It's just weak plastic that doesn't last. Samsung won't fix it, despite it being under warranty. They say repairs to the casing are not covered by the warranty. In their email to me they told me cracking in the casing is always the fault of the user: even though they haven't even looked at my tablet so how can they make any judgment about the damage?! Very unhappy and will not buy a Samsung product again. They cost almost as much as Apple products, which are very well made out of good quality materials.

Its a great piece of kit. But doesn't do everything I hoped for.
I made the jump to Android from Microsoft, hoping for a viable touchscreen PC solution. After months of use, these are my findings. No. I have to have both. The Tablet is excellent for Mobility, wireless connectivity, battery power, internet access, sound, visual display. The Android is excellent for App's, productivity, speed, quick referencing, social networking. The Microsoft PC is excellent for being a HUB to connect everything too. It is the king of connectivity. To my PC I connect my camera, printer, various USB's of varying formats, mobile phones, tablets. I also download and use programs that Android cannot interface with. Windows 8 is not a viable option for me, as the app's are not Android. I am used to the way android app's work, look and feel. Windows app's are different and lack something android does very well. Since i'm so used to the pin point accuracy of a good old Microsoft mouse. Touch screen is still finicky and less intuitive on any platform, be it Windows 8 or Android. I have to have, and need, both. Android is great, Microsoft is great. The only way for a consumer like me to be happy. Is for Microsoft to stay Windows 7, BUT with Android app's on the desktop. I doubt that will happen anytime soon. For me it goes down like this: Microsoft for work. Android for pleasure. Hope this helps

Superb tablet
I bought this tablet after using a BlackBerry Playbook for the last few months. What a difference! The Note has a superbly responsive touchscreen, connects easily to available networks and the multitasking features work well. The operating system updated to Jelly Bean immediately and the range of apps available is wide. To date, I prefer the stock browser to Chrome but have found both the installed apps and those I have downoaded to be very usable. I haven't used the pen much as I have found the screen so responsive. This is a superb device and I am genuinely able to use it for a number of tasks that I would have needed my laptop for previously. I bought the grey version as I wanted something a bit more subtle than the white one. It is nicely understated in appearance and is well complemented by Samsung's own brand grey book cover.
