Shure PGXD24/PG58-X8 Digital Handheld Wireless System with PG58 Vocal Microphone

I've had zero issues with the Shure PGXD2/BETA58 and the PGX digital communications platform. I use this microphone in a variety of environments, and it never gives me any trouble. Setting it up is simple—I always let the base scan for interference-free channels and pick automatically. I’ve never experienced drops, cutouts, latency, or any other problems with this platform. The BETA58 microphone is as durable and reliable as the wired version, a true workhorse. This model uses disposable batteries, and I usually get about 8 hours of solid use before needing to swap them out. The microphone also has a convenient standby button with an LED light that works without causing pops or noise artifacts, providing clear feedback when the mic is muted. As a mid-priced option, this system outperforms many analog systems and is less expensive than some of the higher-end digital alternatives. I’ve used it at distances up to 100 feet with zero issues, though I haven’t tested it beyond that range. Overall, it’s a solid, professional-grade product that delivers reliable performance.

I received the mic on Friday. Took it to the gig on Saturday (after a test at home). I just started singing with this band and actually have no live band with a mic experience(really,I can sing though). But the freedom of wireless let me burst out and move through the crowd and go crazy. The sound was amazing, clear, crisp and no static, cut outs, or any problems. The lighter weight of the unit was great, and the price beat all the local stores including our guitarist own store he manages. Easy to hook up and use. I love this mic.

Purchased this mic for a installation in a manufacturing environment that has a ton of wireless networks running simultaneously. I figured that this was the best solution to make sure that interference was not going to be a problem without breaking the bank. Installation was simple. Fired it up and hit the channel switch to get the best frequency in the area that I was in unscrewed the bottom of the microphone and hit the sync button and the microphone was paired to the base. Yes. It was just that easy! Microphone has be installed for a few months now and they have not had one issue with the system. and the Beta 58A super-cardiod pattern picks up super well even if the user doesn't hold the microphone exactly right. Just to note: The microphone comes installed with the -10dB pad turned on, so if you are not getting the gain that you would like out of this microphone, unscrew the top cap and flip the switch.

I purchased 2 of these. They worked fine at first. Then I started getting dropouts at one venue where they had previously worked. I was told they likely were getting interference from some unknown device(s) nearby. I switched to another product operating in the UHF band and no more problem. They still work flawlessly at another venue though.

I use wired microphones normally, and use many of the Shure SM58 (an industry standard). When I selected this wireless microhone, I hoped it would sound as good as the wired ones I have. It did! I can really tell on the recordings. But the best thing was what happened "out of the box:." I plugged in the receiver, put a battery in the microphone and it worked instantly - no searching for frequencies, and no fuss with set up. So far it has worked great, and has worked well for speaking conferences. So far as long as you remember the "line of site" rule, there are very, very few dropouts (dead spots). I would highly recommend this product.

What can I say? Shure is a top brand for a reason. The channel scan feature is great to avoid interference. You can quickly sync the mic to the receiver using the infrared transmitter. The mute button doesn't make any sort of audible pop. The soft-side carrying case is durable enough to keep things safe. It doesn't come with an XLR cable, but if you pull the extra block of foam out of the section of the case that holds the power supply, you can easily carry a 3' cable in there, too.

The Shure PGX-D24 system has fantastic audio quality and is easy to use. I use the lavalier mic because it is convenient but the handheld works well too. Best of all, this system uses AA batteries in its transmitter so you never have to worry about whether it's charged or not - just replace the battery when the light is red.

Im so disappointed in the quality of what was supposed to be a top of the line product. I sing in a 90s band and I rehearse with his microphone two times a month and have used it for one show. It started cracking and became very mutted in May '23 and I purchased it in Oct '22. We did troubleshooting on all equipment and used a different mic (sounded good and normal with a diffeeent mic) with all different set ups and this microphone is indeed fried somehow already. So I would say don't buy it. At least not this model.

Excelente micrófono. Muy buena calidad de sonido, muy limpia la señal y fácil de configurar. Hice una comparación con un equipo similar pero con la cápsula SM58 y si se escucha el cambio, un sonido claro y brillante. A mi punto de vista si es mejor la cápsula SM86. Satisfecho con su calidad y precio 🎤
